The Senate Minority Leader and immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio has dissociated himself, his office, staff and associates from a publication against Governor Udom Emmanuel published on page 7 of The Nation newspaper of Thursday October 5, 2017 and some online platforms, with the title; "Why Akpabio's shoes are too big for Governor Emmanuel."
Condemning the publication and those behind it, Senator Akpabio in a release signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Anietie Ekong, said there was no basis to compare the eight years of his administration to that of Governor Udom Emmanuel who has barely served two years in office so far.
Senator Akpabio is confident that Governor Emmanuel will definitely leave Akwa Ibom State better than he met it by the time he completes his eight years in office.
Senator Akpabio commended Governor Emmanuel for keeping his electioneering campaign promises to Akwa Ibom people particularly in the area of industrialization. He expressed happiness with the strides so far recorded by the Udom Emmanuel administration particularly the recently commissioned electric metering and syringe factories by the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo.
The former Governor and Senate Minority Leader cautioned mischief makers not to use his name in attempting to create bad blood in his relationship with his successor. He believes that Governor Udom Emmanuel possesses the capacity to improve on the Uncommon Transformation witnessed during his tenure between 2007 and 2015 and has so far demonstrated same.
