While insisting that some people have gone with the wrong impression that, the Akwa Ibom State Government is fighting the NDDC or resisting the commission from intervention in the State, Commissioner Inyangeyen reiterated that Governor Udom Emmanuel welcomes responsive intervention from federal agencies, especially the NDDC, but maintained that, the Akwa Ibom State Government has only charged that the commission should interface with the State on projects they are undertaking, inform the State and collaborate so that the jobs will be done to specifications and the quality assured so that such jobs will be truly beneficial to the people of the State and stand the test of time.

Commissioner Inyangeyen said, Akwa Ibom State Government cannot reject NDDC intervention when the money that funds the Commission is derived from the natural resources of the State, adding that, the State deserves so much more.

Residents of J Line Ewet Housing Road thanked the works Commissioner and his NDDC partner for the visit which they said is timely and went on to reel out the adverse effects of flooding on the road because of the faulty drain, pleading that it should be corrected.

The NDDC Commissioner, Mr Samuel Frank assured that their complaints have been noted and restated the mission of NDDC to deliver quality and durable projects wherever the Commission intervenes.

The Works Commissioner in company of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Elder Effiong Essien and immediate past Commissioner of Transport, Akparawa Godwin Ntukudeh thereafter proceeded to Mbiaya Uruan where the team reviewed the stretch of the road which has been slated for construction.

Commissioner Inyangeyen who assured that inspite of dwindling resources that Governor Udom Emmanuel is eager to deliver on his campaign pledge to Uruan people also inspected the gully threat encroaching Uyo village road harping that, the Works Ministry is working hard to address the teething problem of gully erosion which has wrought devastation in many sites in the state.

He called on the Federal Government to urgently come to the rescue and designate Akwa Ibom as an environmental disaster area to enable the State access ecological funding to address the menace.
