The Oro Nation Leadership and Business Roundtable met with the ebullient, nicely handsome and silver tongued Hon. Orman Esin in his Shelter Afrique residence, Uyo.. It was indeed the very first time the Roundtable would get a political office holder on the table for the Oro discourse..

Beyond our knowledge of what stuff the commissioner is made of when it comes to talking, Hon. Orman took the discourse to dimensions farther and deeper than could be anticipated..

The fascinating aspect of yesterday's outing was the frankness of our host and the palpable connect between him and the sentiments he marshalled..

One could unmistakeably see an impassioned Oro lover deploying quite instinctively, the instrumentality of language power to communicate his soul on how he feels Oro could move forward.. It can hardly be argued the fact that, Hon. Orman Esin is a delight to listen to and interact with anytime, any day ..

Setting the tone for the family discourse, the convener of the Roundtable, spokesperson of Oron Union and secretary of Oron Think Tank, Barr. Omen Bassey validated the commendation on the commissioner for feeling at home to welcome the probing Roundtable for an engagement, by an earlier speaker who handled the introduction, Samuel Duncan..

Barr. Omen Bassey intimated the commissioner on the team's mission and vision which rests purely on Oro's development cutting across human, leadership and infrastructural development.. He harped profusely on quality leadership, effective representation, love for fatherland, unity of purpose and service to humanity..

During interaction, Barr. Omen stressed the need to encourage younger people with intellectual capacity, right attitude, zeal and passion for service to Oro Nation, consistency and commitment to assigned tasks to assume strategic leadership responsibilities..

In his submission, such people will garner useful experiences in the process and be available long enough to help with their experiences, contacts and influence..

To him, the community loses when old people get shots at strategic positions and retire immediately after office due to weakness..

Members of the Roundtable took turn to bombard the expressive commissioner with very probing questions covering varied areas of interest to Oro like the Deep Seaport, Oro's status as oil bearing and oil producing and the supposed benefits thereto attached, Oro's leadership recruitment process as it affects the quality of representation, mentorship, human capital development and economic emancipation, infrastructural development, Oro's political inclusion and integration, Oro Nation-Oil Companies relations, Oro 2015 project and 2019 dynamics etc..

Mr. Commissioner equally had punches on his tenure as council chairman, his current position as commissioner, his personal efforts to help Oro, the Rock Marine issue and numerous other questions..
Demonstrative as ever, the action commissioner dissected every bit of the questions, full of pep..

Commissioner Orman stressed that his life is decorated with God's grace hence, he has never felt pressured despite the enormous demands of high political office occupation.. He entreated the group to believe firmly in God as the best and surest way to success..

Hon. Orman advised that no past mistake by Oro leaders must be used against them in any way rather, means should be devised to correct them.. He opined that consistent political alignment is one of the things Oro needs to get it right..

"Politics defines the destiny of the next generation; that is the reason you must go beyond writing, putting the records straight and engendering change to making yourselves available as instruments of change.. Don't make political enemies but allies.. Do not criticise with aggression but do so constructively"..

He asked the Roundtable to engage every Oro leader across political divides and make conscious efforts to bring them together..

On oil politics, the commissioner promised he would definitely sanitise the community-oil companies engagement process and ensure that the numerous oil companies operating in our communities must not continue to short change the people through their divide and rule stratagem..

He presented a template where highly influential personalities, sector specific experts, and representatives of critical segments of the communities would constitute oil and gas committee to engage the companies on their responsibilities to host communities..

Hon. Orman promised he would do all within his means to help the leadership recruitment process in Oro throw up capable and qualified leaders from even those who will occupy councillorship positions, continue to mentor and groom the younger ones, and encourage gifted indigent Oro students..

The roundtable did not go without the commissioner's commendation.. In his words, "The Roundtable is very timely and strategic; it parades the cream of Oro young people with intellect, focus, zeal and zest to rewrite the Oro story..

I shall continuously partner this group to ensure the right consciousness is cultivated and the right advocacies carried..

We must seek to partner government despite party lines.. I urge every politician in Oro to sit down with you, engage you on the way forward for Oro"..

The Roundtable undoubtedly had a productive engagement with the Hon. Commissioner and sincerely wishes others should copy this shining example of the young, intelligent and pragmatic Oro ambassador..
