In furtherance of Governor Udom Emmanuel's commitment to improving the
welfare of School Children in the State, The Special Assistant to the
Governor on Social Reorientation, Mr Ekpeno Gold,
has undertaken the provision of school uniforms for pupils of The
Apostolic School, Ifa Ikot Okpon-Etoi, in Uyo Local Government Area.
The Governor's Aide who was in the school, Thursday, to take measurements of the pupils,
said the current administration in the State, under Governor Emmanuel
is concerned about the welfare of School children and would leave no
stone unturned in ensuring that learn in better conditions.
He said the provision of the uniforms will ameliorate burdens on parents, as it would allow them cater for other necessities for their wards.
While interacting with the pupils, Mr Gold advised them to take their studies seriously and warned against truancy to school, an act which he said may not augur well for their future.
He described the children as future leaders of the State and Nation and appealed to them to respect their parents and teachers, who according to him, are keyplayers in their lives.
Mr Gold specifically pledged to take over funding for one of the brilliant pupils, Master God'spower Edet John and said the act would encourage the lad to study harder.
Earlier, the Governor's Aide had met the School's Headmistress, Mrs Jenny Thomas, and said he was in the school, as one of its products, to draw more government's presence to the academy.
Responding, Mrs Thomas, thanked the Governor's Aide for working in line with the ideals of Governor Udom Emmanuel and said the management of the school were appreciative of the generosity exhibited by the Governor's Aide.
