The challenges of reigning in leadership is not one of the
super-imposing, additional characteristics, it is largely one of
removing impediments, of freeing them, of getting them to be treated
with the same naturalness that they would displaying if someone were to
knock them down.
A good window does not struggle to call the
attention of air, it effortlessly lets in air...even light. A good
leader is like that, he is so natural that his routines of followership
never notice his cat-walks, they are only conscious of his hard-works.
Forgive the insistence of my pattern of writing and how I have
deliberately decided to use the recently flagged-off Akwa Ibom toothpick
to toothpick my words.
My writing expresses my world, where you
get to burn-out calories of ur views or watch your mental space go rot.
That's how i grew up, though right now, I've come to believe that it is
more of a narrative of an oppressed people.
I listened to one
of Akwa Ibom's finest and great minds, a prominent Elder, fronter for
good governance, an A-list and first class politician Arch. Otu Ita Toyo
on a live interview program on radio a few days ago. He tended to have
cautioned the people who speak for government.
I'm sure he knows better what it feels like to live in a lie.
"People who speak for government over-speak and under-deliver", he busted.
He was humane in his expository, having been blessed with an uncanny
clarity of mind and thoughts which he has continually deployed freely in
search for answers to what he choose to call...." The muddy terrain of
politics".
If government has conceived an idea and is planing to
lay it on the table, those on their media payroll should not raise the
bar of the expectation of the people to an unimaginable level.
Because,
at the end of the day, when it flops, you get to see their
paymasters(government) moving in circles like YOYO's, stewing in their
own juices with nothing to show, and their array of spokes-people will
be left reeling and wailing like careless farmers stung by a band of
bees.
Take the Ibaka Deep Seaport in Mbo local government for example.
This internationally publicized and magnificently-rated project,
conceived by the Arch.(Obong) Victor Attah's adminstration at about the
twelfth of his administration has become the most popular commodity
during electioneering campaigns, yet nothing, i mean nothing is going on
there. You cannot even find an assemblage of pegs there.
This is
one project that our present state government CNN'ed and BBC'ed during
the much exaggerated inauguration of a technical committee for it
actualization in Nov. 2015.
Eighteen months going, nothing, i mean
absolutely nothing is heard of the media touted jamboree permutated by
government media crusaders in regards to it. It ended confirmably with
motion without movement, a typical case of being on the treadmill and
claiming to run 20miles without leaving the same spot.
Media
managers and communication branders of our state government have like
disciples, out of sheer sycophancy dressed their employers with finished
badges, well-coated billboards and art labels with their names and
insignia inscribed on them just to be welcomed with applause and granted
unhindered access to pick crumbs from their golden table.
To
successfully execute this ungodly and unholy plot, they tirelessly and
relentlessly, the same way an infant ravenously lick candy wrappings for
the last trace of honey try to sow their media-buttered hype and lies
on our mental soil.
But it has inadvertently refused to sink in and
germinate for a bumper harvest because we Akwa Ibom people have had our
own fair share of being seen as idiots, illiterates and No-good.
My guesstitude is that the best time for a lie to be believed is when you have enough truth working for you.
When someone had the audacity to ferry in foreign branded Pencils, package them as if they are produced in Akwa Ibom, assemble them in a hurriedly constructed coven for the world to see and know that something as common as Pencils are being produced and celebrated as major achievement in 2years of a government that has received 34.67billion naira in the last but 90days and close to 1trillion naira in 2years, it is either we are all mistakenly assumed to be idiots as government preaches or maybe we all were shipped into Akwa Ibom as refugees who do not know their left from right.

Again, good image makers and
promoters of government even in their glaring and crass failure feel we
all should dare not question the government that we brought to be(or at
least, the one foist on us) and whose executive rascality and
authoritative maltreatment is beginning to infect us all like an unknown
virus.
I coiled a live segment program "Paper View" with Inspiration FM anchored by Charles Akpan with guest reviewers like Imaobong Akpan
and Osundu Ahirika just last Monday, fireworks ensued between the duo
ostensibly because on one hand, one was questioning the secrecy in
government expenses and the other, in his usual crass dominance was
protecting his payslip by objecting to what i choose to call "Citizens
Right".
Anyone who feels that we Akwa Abasi Ibom people do not have
the right to demand, to know and to hold our government accountable
should read the necessary portions of the constitution and the FOI Act
and get answers for their puerile posers.
The fireworks which proved
to those who feel they can substitute for substance reminded me of
December 31 midnight every year, echo's of burst-fire and knock-outs
reign the air, where the flames of burnt-tyres and wild-jubilations
envelops and reign on every corner.
I'm still preparing to upload that live-audio-chat, a mind -blowing mega-audio compendium.
Just stand by.....
Just stand by.....
Sometimes one must follow one's conscience not one's duty and i equally
felicitate members of the government media wailers because it's hard to
see the frame when you are in the picture, but those who therefore
assume that they can inherit and reign in government by disguise or the
obscenity of harroworshipping today to constantly remain atop will
sooner or later realize that it was an exercise in futility.
Posterity shall engrave their names as some of those people who composed
the lies, the deceit and the propaganda promoted through the media
government presently flexing it muscles in Akwa Ibom State.
