The Akwa Ibom State Vigilante Commander, Group Commander Joshua Dickson
has called on the State government to give attention to the
reoccurrence of kidnapping, assassination and cult war in communities,
to ensure protection of lives and properties in the State.
Commander Dickson made the call while interacting with journalists at the 2017 children's Day celebration held at Uyo township stadium, Saturday.
According to him, the State had enjoyed a lasting peace for the past years and wondered why criminality and other vises returned in full force to the State.
Commander Dickson while promising to send his Men to the nooks and crannies of Akwa Ibom communities to fight the menace, called on government to give greater backing for the Group to succeed in the fight.
He lauded The established security agencies in the state for their efforts towards securing lives and promised to synergize for optimal performance, noting that Vigilante has been on ground and are conversant with the environment.
He thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for his sterling leadership quality of sustaining democracy in the State, and promised to contribute his quota for the peaceful coexistence of the state.
Commander Dickson while congratulating the children for the successful celebration, thanked the Women Affairs Commissioner for a successful hosting of the event.
