Akwa Ibom State government is mounting a three day Leadership and Behavioural Ethics Training for Prefects in Public Secondary Schools across the three Senatorial Districts of the State.


Organised by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Education Monitoring, the training aims at equipping Schools Prefects with the rudiments of quality leadership and social re-engineering.

The State Commissioner for Education, Pastor Paul Udofia, declared open the event in Uyo senatorial district held at Community Secondary School, Aka Offot.

In their separate speeches at the occasion, the Commissioner for Education, implored the students to engender virtues of quality leadership while the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Charles Udoh, urged the Prefects not only to build strong team but to be strong leaders themselves as the aspire for future leadership.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Education Monitoring, Idongesit Etiebet, expressed gratitude to Governor Udom Emmanuel for approving the training programme and urged the Prefects to make good use of the opportunity.

The Guest Lecturer, Mr. Afolabi Adun, charged Guidance Counsellors to counsel students not only on. curriculum but also on development of Leadership traits such as Courage, Patience, initiative, fast thinking and sincerity, among others.
