“So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.”

God is not a wasteful God. He does not do things for nothing. He is a purposeful and a very intentional God. If God asks you to go to the left, it is because there are so many things that will result out of that move that will take you a life time to understand. So, God did not give you a pastor or prophet for nothing. There is a whole lot of blessings connected to having a pastor who speaks into your life regularly.
Your prosperity amongst other things is tied to your relationship with your prophet. Your pastor or prophet may not be perfect, as God does not call perfect people, and He does it that way so no flesh would glory in His presence. But as weak and frail as your pastor may be, yet your prosperity, wellbeing and future has a lot to do with Him. Your strategic connection to him or her therefore positions you for great blessings. God wishes above all things that you prosper and remain healthy, and one way to achieve that is to connect properly to your pastor.
Here are a few ways to connect to your pastor:
i. Connect to his messages: Make sure you hear your pastor's preaching and teachings regularly because God will put your word in his mouth.
ii. Reject the habit of missing church services: The reason is, you can't choose the day God will bless and visit you. It can happen any day, you just have to make sure you are around.
ii. Obey your pastor: Disobedience to your pastor could cause grief in his heart towards you and that is a disadvantage to you. Hebrews 13:17.
iv. Believe them: Don't get so familiar with them to the point where you don't take their words seriously any more. That is dangerous.
v. Bless your pastor: Pastors live to give and give and give. They encourage everyone else with no one to encourage them most times. As such, anything done to refresh them provokes blessings from their depths, and God has promised to honor their words.
Honour and be a blessing to your prophet in Jesus name.
