For his overdose of support to the Entertainment Industry in Akwa Ibom,
Entertainers in the State have pledged to reciprocate the gesture by
giving Governor Udom Emmanuel 100 percent votes in 2019, Special
Assistant on Entertainment Industry to Governor Emmanuel, Mr David
Sergeant, has said.
The governor's aide, popularly called Utang Akwa Ibom, who was speaking with newsmen at the sidelines of the Ibom Plaza, Tuesday night, during the "I Support Udom" Concert, lauded the State's Chief Executive for always identifying with "a section of Akwa Ibomites who make ends meet through entertainment".
According to Mr Sergeant, the gig was part of activities to celebrate a Governor who has made Akwa Ibom voters proud in just two years in office.
Utang Akwa Ibom hinted that the primary purpose of hosting concerts at Ibom plaza was to give an ample opportunity for the budding Artists who are not opportune to perform at the government house because of time, to showcase their talents and entertain the masses.
The popular entertainer assured the upcoming artists in the State a good sense of belonging, adding that the concert is to get people entertained and to know the efforts of governor Udom Emmanuel in the entertainment industry.
He promised all the talented artists in the State not to miss the opportunity, explaining that governor Emmanuel is ever ready to support all the upcoming artists in the state.
He urged everyone to support the present administration in the state in 2019 gubernatorial election, adding that governor Emmanuel score card in two years deserves a second term.
On his part a gospel artist and SA to governor on project monitoring Mr Godfather Uko eulogised governor Emmanuel for industrialising the state and for his interest in the development of entertainment industry.
He thanked Mr Sergeant for hosting the concert to entertain people and the opportunity given to the upcoming artists to showcase their talents.
The event featured, comedy, music, drama by over fifty-five indigenous Artists.
Meanwhile, the gig was preceeded by a novelty football match between Akwa Ibom State Entertainment Industry and Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Akwa Ibom State chapter.
The match ended 5 - 2 via penalty shootout, in favour of ALGON, Akwa Ibom.
