Consider Your Ways - By P. Ezekiel Atang

Haggai 1:6-7 KJV

“Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways.”

It is quite amazing how we blame demons, satan, principalities and powers for all the misfortunes of our lives many times.

Worst still, we get to blame people such as parents, uncles, aunties, organizations and situations for where we find ourselves in life many times. But the truth of life is that a man is mostly to be blamed for his final outcome in life.

The people of God in our text suddenly realized that things turned out really bad for them and they could not understand why.

They would earn monies, only to put them in bags with holes, they ate and were never satisfied, they covered themselves and were not warmed, they would even gather and God said He blew on what they gathered so it scattered. So, when they had really suffered, God told them what the problem was.

He said "Consider Your Ways". They had apparently abandoned the house of God to look so desolate and uncared for, whilst they built great houses for themselves, and God said their ways was the problem.
A man's troubles and misfortune will always be traced to his ways.

‘Your ways’ in this context means your lifestyle, your priority system, your behavioral pattern etc. These are the things that bring pain and curses on people all the time.

Most times, a one-time action will not have adverse effect on your life like what you consistently do. Here is the wisdom; learn to always trace your problems to your ways, the answer lies right there.

So, when God allows certain things to fall apart, all He is doing is trying to call your attention to your ways, your lifestyle, your habits, your behaviour and your daily routine.
Receive the wisdom to check your ways today in Jesus Name.
