company of the Honourable Commissioner for Science and Technology, Dr.
Nse Udo Essien today received 10 poles of High Tech Solar Street
Lights donated by Hang Zhou MC2 Prudent Company Ltd based at Plot 150
Industrial Layout Itam, Uyo capital city.The poles mounted along Oron
Road by Udo Udoma Avenue occupy a stretch of 250metres.
Sir Umoren welcomed
the technology innovators to the State,thanked them for their kind
gesture and promised full government support for their operation.
The Commissioner for Science and Technology,Dr. Nse Udo Essien while briefing reporters stated that the high tech street lights were just a sample of numerous other things the company was going to produce in the State.
The company he said had acquired a factory site,cleared it and hopefully in the next 6months would have completed the factory fully fitted with the necessary equipments.
Among other things they company would produce he said would include Solar panels, low energy lightings, batteries etc.
He highlighted the distinctiveness of the lights to include the 4-5years lifespan of the battery and it's location on the pole making it immune to vandalism.
This development he maintained was a confirmation that the industrialization process championed by his Excellency the Governor was on course and a prove that Akwa Ibom had become an investor's haven.
He expressed optimism that the State would be fully industrialised in no distant time. The Government he stated had eliminated all incumbrances associated with getting the factory started and he seized the opportunity to invite other industrialists to the State assuring them of a friendly investment atmosphere.
Furthermore, The Ministry Boss gave the indication that the package included training of indigenous personnel both in Nigeria and China when the project is fully on course.
The factory in Akwa Ibom he said would be used to service other African countries.The supply of components to other big project sites of the company in Zambia and Ghana he stated would come from Uyo thereby opening up employment opportunities for young people and providing a value chain system where others can key in
