Psalms 1:1-3 KJV
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor
standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the
scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth
he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the
rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf
also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."
It is clear that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities and power and even rulers or the darkness of this world, coupled with spiritual wickedness in high places. A lot of our troubles and setbacks could be traced to these forces.
But theses wicked powers are not just overcome by prayers alone as many of us would do.
Prayer is powerful, but there are times when we either are not able to pray at all or not able to pray enough; at such times we need to engage principles.
Nothing deals with principalities like principles. Here are a few examples:
Job.
He was so viciously attacked by the enemy from the destruction of his businesses to the killing of his children and then the wasting of his health. He came down to his last penny, but God made him to practice forgiveness of his friends and all the powers in hell could not hold back his deliverance. Job 42:10.
The Shunamite Woman.
She was barren for so many years contrary to the will of God. Because God had said that none shall be barren among us. Then by sheer inspiration she sowed into the life of Elisha the prophet of God.
It a very short time the hold of barrenness over her life, which was obviously sponsored by demonic powers broke in one instance. 2Kings 4:8-17.
Again the Shunamite woman's son died mysteriously by some demonic knock from hell. And she headed for the man that God used to give her this miracle in the first place.
You will notice that on several occasions she made sure her mouth never uttered anything negative. At one time, she said to her husband "it shall be well".
And then she replied Gehazi "it is well". Confirming that death and life are in the power of the tongue. 2Kings 4:18-37; Proverbs 18:20-21.
The list is endless. The Bible is a compilation of people who overcame principalities with principles. Satan represents darkness and God's principles represents light, and darkness cannot comprehend the light when it shines in darkness. God's principles are God's wisdom and a wise man is stronger. (Ref:Proverbs 24:5; John 1:5)
Assignment
Make a search and seek out three principles for each affliction in your life and practice them faithfully and long enough.
Prayer
-Lord open my eyes that I may see wondrous principles out of your word in Jesus Name.
