Central Uruan Ward 3 hitherto considered an APC stronghold in Uruan
gave way on the 29th of April 2017 as over 253 APC members stormed the
venue of PDP ward elders inaugural meeting which was Chaired by Hon Dr
Eventus Edem and surrendered their brooms and membership cards for the
furnace, a clear indication that the people of Uruan from the seven
villages in Central Uruan ward 3 are done with the wanton deceits of APC.
More decampees are expected to follow suit from the remaining 10 wards in Uruan local government area in no distant time. Its truly a harvest of decampees in Uruan into the PDP family courtesy of a performing Governor; Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.
The anger and frustrations that usually led to opposition syndrome in Central Uruan Ward 3 was destroyed by the major road constructions undertaken by His Excellency; Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel which traverses from Anua through central Uruan to Adadia beach market.
Uruan people are known for their outspokenness on matters that concern them,likewise being economical with gratitude is not in the character of a typical Uruan son or daughter,thus this show of gratitude by the good people of Central Uruan ward 3 to Mr Udom Emmanuel for keeping his campaign promises to the area is apt and sends a strong signal that Uruan is no shopping ground for any other party apart from PDP come 2019.
The Chairman of the August event, Dr Eventus Edem from the South East
clan of Uruan, while welcoming the decampees enjoined all who are yet to
register for their permanent voter’s card to do so even as Uruan is
prepared to re-elect Governor Udom Emmanuel come 2019.

decampees from Central Uruan ward 3 were led by Apostle Edet Okon
Asuquo, Bishop Godwin Efiong,Ededet Asuquo udo and Apostle Kingsly O.Udo
among others,they all surrendered the insignia of their former parties
and embraced PDP and the umbrella"
"Uruan did well during last polls and we are ready to do more come 2019" Dr Eventus Edem.
The Political Leader of Uruan,Obong Prince Ekpe Atakpo used the occasion to thank Governor Udom Emmanuel for being a man of his word. He further stressed that the numerous Infrastructural developments in Uruan has endeared the Governor to the people, making 2019 a walk over.
The Transition Chairman; Dr Edwin Okon and the Chapter Chairman of PDP inaugurated the ward elders forum in Central Uruan ward 3. The Decampees were officially received back into the PDP family by Mr Obot,the Chapter Chairman of PDP in Uruan.
