The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters-Senate, Senator Ita Enang has applauded the timely completion of the runway of the Abuja Airport by President Muhammadu Buhari, saying the completion shows the commitment of the federal government towards fulfilling her promises to Nigerians.
"President Muhammadu Buhari, the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, the Minister of Transports, Mr Chibuike Amaechi and the Minister of Aviation, state, Mr Harika should be commended for keeping to the promise and opening the airport ahead of schedule".
Senator Enang made the reaction when he phoned in to the programme, "Team Nigeria" on Planet FM radio, Uyo.
He said Nigerians should trust the APC government will fulfil her promises as exemplified by the timely reopening of the airport.
Senator Enang congratulated the new Ag publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Akwa Ibom State Barr. Edet Bassey, urging him to uphold the spirit and strength his predecessor, Engr Ita Awak, shew.
He noted that the former publicity secretary, Engr. Ita Awak before his new appointment with the federal government had always marched on the propaganda of the opposition party with hard facts.
The President's aide encouraged Barr. Edet Bassey to remain unwearied by the antics of the opposition party but remain focused on letting Akwa Ibom State people know that APC is the party that will take over in 2019.
Enang said the APC will correct all pains inflicted on the State and the people by 2019.
On the suspension of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF, Engr Babachir Lawal and the Director General of National Intelligence Agency, NIA Dr. Oke Dike, the President's legislative liaison man said the suspended officials remain innocent until the report of the investigation is out.
"All are presumed innocent until proven otherwise. We will have to wait for the outcome of the investigations.
Beyond this Mr. President has shown that he is committed to doing only the best for Nigerians".
Enang commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian Armed Forces for ensuring that there was no security incident during operations from Kaduna airport.
He called for the construction of a second runway to act alternative to the existing one considering the number of traffic that throng the Abuja airport daily, sighting example of Dubai and UK airports with more than one runway.
On management of resources of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Enang urged Governor Udom Emmanuel to consider the citizens first in his daily activities by ensuring that monies acruable to the State from federal purse are utilized for the benefits of all irrespective of political party.
On the relationship between the Executive and legislature at the National Assembly, Enang said the activism of the legislature and some persons in the executive was an indication that democracy is working in Nigeria and things are going well.
