2 Corinthians 9:7 KJV

“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.”

God once rejected someone's offering in the bible and the reason was very obvious. His name was Cain and his offering was rejected because it was not his first. He did not place God as number one in his life, unlike his brother who gave God of the firstling of his flock.

It should be known to you and me that God will not take second place, He vehemently rejects any other place other than the first place. He is before all things and He has the pre-eminence over all.

The next kind of gift that God will reject is the one given from a grudging and complaining heart. God is too rich and powerful to receive a grudging gift.

He doesn't love givers, rather He loves a cheerful giver. That is why we play music and sing praise to God in most churches during offering times.

It is an attempt to get our gifts accepted by God. Yet it will surprise you how many still frown their faces when they give to God.

Is it possible that some reasons for continued poverty in the church is traceable to uncheerful giving? I believe so.

Lastly, God does not need our monies or gifts. He owns the whole world and did not need anyone's help when He created.

When we give to Him, we do so for our own benefit and not His; and so He insists on honour. If there is no honour in your gift, then I am afraid it might be rejected by God.

Solomon said "Honour the Lord with your substance and with the first fruit of all your increase. Proverbs 3:9.

Become honour conscious when dealing with God and God will honour you in return. 1Samuel 2:30.

May your sacrifices and offerings be accepted by God in Jesus Name. Read Psalm 20:1-end.

Assignment/Prayer
