Yesterday (Friday), I took to various online media outlets to blow up
the covered secret detention and brutal torture of Pastor Daniel Otoyo (Prince Otoyo),
which was masterminded by his "leader" cum oppressor, Hon. Felicia
Bassey, who is the Member Representing Okobo State Constituency at the
Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, on account of alleged car theft.
This, I communicated through a piece titled "The Arbitrary Arrest,
Detention and Torture of Pastor Otoyo, Ordered By Hon. Felicia Bassey: A
Case Of Unfruitful Loyalty And A Result For Mental Slavery".
Consequently, the release of Pastor Otoyo from police detention was
ordered by Madam Bassey at about 7:00pm yesterday, after several pleas
for Otoyo's release by his family members and some political
stakeholders fell on deaf ears.
Notably, Pastor Daniel Otoyo has
been accused of surreptitiously converting without trace, one of the
ten old buses purchased by Madam for an intended showoff in Okobo on an
indefinite date billed for a proposed but, discorded constituency
briefing.
The event of the missing bus caused Pastor Otoyo to be
detained and harshly tortured at the State Police Command, Ikot Akpan
Abia, from Wednesday, March 1 to Friday, March 3, 2017, at the instance
of a woman he so much pledged loyalty to (fake or genuine) and worked
for.
Upon his release last night, Mr. Otoyo appeared on Facebook
to confirm the story and announced his release by dropping comments
beneath the update I published about his detention and by sharing the
same update on his timeline with an expression "It was a very sad
experience. I couldn't believe it." (Snapshots attached).
Meanwhile, I am not surprised by the rushed release of Pastor Otoyo,
because I know the degree to which the Honourable Member in question
detests public interest in issues she considers private, neither am I
astonished by the ill-treatment received my Pastor Daniel Otoyo, because
he worked so hard to earn it, by continuing in servitude, while his
contemporaries had long vacated the "Felicia's dynasty".
But
then, I'm more concerned about the end of this case and the future of
today's Okobo young population, with the alarming rate of political
idolatry and mental servitude evident in the land, which is practiced
more by enlightened youths, unfortunately.
To my brother of the
same clan and ward, Pastor Daniel Otoyo, I believe you are aware that
change is the end result of all true learning? Obviously, your express
loyalty to what/who in turn does not recognise your value is the sin you
have committed.
Yes! You have sinned pastor, and my polite
charge to you as you face further investigations over the missing bus is
a repetition of Jesus' response to the adulterous woman in John 8:11
"neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more".
ONE THORN OF EXPERIENCE IS WORTH A WHOLE WILDERNESS OF WARNING.
