Akwa Ibom state as we all know is basicaly and majorly made up of
the Ibibios,Annangs and the Oros.Suffice to say here that i'm never in
support of anything sentiment or ethnic colouration.
The decision to
have imposed Udom Emmanuel against the overwhelming wish of the Akwa
Ibom people by govenor Akpabio is today proven to be counter
productive.
UDOM lacked that charming disposition and confidence that was
the Akpabio's trademark.Though a lot of people felt it ought to have
been the turn of Oro, which never saw the light of the day.
I did not
grudge for too long, but later join forces with the relatively known
flag bearer of the PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY. Deacon UDOM GABRIEL
EMMANUEL.
Though his academic attainment was quite intimidating and
unrival,i went ahead and supported UDOM as someone with a tall dream and
felt strongly that Oro would not grieve for long.
During the
electioneering campaign UDOM made mention of Oro and Onna as being from
same stock(a pointer to it rich alluvium coastlands and it
characteristic orange marine sands).
I felt that in UDOMS heart of heart
the injustice done to Oro would be redress and Akwa Ibom viewed and
looked upon as a model state based on advancement and hindsight.
Today i
am meant to regreat bitterly why i had to be part of that set up.UDOM is
an excellent banker but a poor administrator.
Political office holders
of UDOM administration are now more or less errant clerks with the fear
of the unknown hanging by their collarbone, and not knowing when to be
boothed. Its laughable seeing the the likes of EPHRAIM INYANG now the
'Kingkong' dragon with the fiery consuming flame ready to pounds at the
least provocation.
Before now,and as far as politics of Akwa Ibom state
is concern the name Ephraim Inyang never rang a bell.EPHRAIM today
wheels the bigstick and is more or less the govenor in passing.
Today
groups name like AKA,4+4,CAC and several others have been forgoten, and
as good as death with an unfancied burial .This were a rallying
support group and was highly sucessful during the Akpabio era.
No wonder
the likes of distinguished senator NELSON EFFIONG,His excellency OBONG
NSIMA Ekere, senator Ita Ennangs have all switch camps and are all out to
stop UDOM come 2019.
The sacking of the 5000 teachers, the govenors
threat to deal with the pitiable pensioneers for exercising their right
to protest their unpaid pensions.
Also is the refusal of UDOM to pay
workers leave grants, and as well as the removal of impress from
political office holders.
Aside from this failure to make the state
economicaly viable. There is a complete absence of human capital
development/empowerment.
No economic recovery of ailing industries as
promise during the electioneering campaign. There is an abscence of a
meaningful or a total lack of compensation to afected properties.
To
crown it all is the unlawful distruction of farmlands with economic
trees to build haphazard roads, and it resulting death traps, without
first of all compensating the owners.
I hold nothing against govenor UDOM
EMMANUEL.But as long as his score card is at it all time low UDOM DOES
NOT DESERVE A 2ND TERM
