The Akwa Ibom State House of assembly today during its plenary extolled the exemplary feat of Master Steven Udotong and Ms. Imeime Umana who has both made exploits in their various field of endeavors in far away United States of America.
This was brought to the floor of the house under matter of urgent public importance siting Order II Rule 4(1) of the standing orders of the AKHA by the Honorable Member Representing Etinan State Constituency Hon. (Barr) Aniefiok Dennis Akpan.
The Etinan Lawmaker who brought the notice to the floor of the People's assembly opined that the recent invention from a Nigerian-American whizkid by name Master Steven Udotong, a 17 years old Son of Mr. Isaac Udotong from Ikot Inyang Village in Oruk Anam LGA of Akwa Ibom State is worthy of encouragement and support.
Young Master Steven Udotong is the first black student to invent/build a NUCLEAR ENERGY FUSOR. A nuclear energy fusor is a very small-scale version of the process that takes place in the sun and records show that Scientists around the world have spent decades pursuing fusion as a solution to the world’s energy woes, as it would be a waste-free, emission-free, and virtually inexhaustible source of power.
According to the young inventor Steven Udotong on his GOFUNDME webpage https://www.gofundme.com/steven-energy-proj
“My name is Steven Udotong, I’m one of five boys from a first-generation Nigerian-American and I am a junior at Cinnaminson High School in small suburban New Jersey town.
My objective is to build a nuclear reactor in my home that I can use to advocate clean energy use for my community and nation.
I have already made immense progress on this, but I hit a roadblock because I need a few more materials to completely finish my reactor.
Nuclear energy shows great promise to drastically reduce our greenhouse emissions and I want to be able demonstrate the potential of this energy in our society and encourage investment into energy sustainability. We only have one Earth and I strongly believe it is important that we maintain it for all future generations as best as we can”.
In the same vein, the Honorable Speaker Rt. Hon. (Barr) Onofiok Luke added that Ms. Imeime Umana who recently emerged as the first black president of the Havard Law Review following the footsteps of former U.S President Barack Obama who was the first black man to be elected to the position has equally made the state proud by attaining such feat while urging the state government and its citizenry to see the duo as good ambassadors and emulate them in line with the DAKKADA campaign of Governor UDOM Emmanuel's administration.
The state lawmakers who overwhelmingly appreciated Hon. (Barr) Aniefiok Dennis Akpan for bringing the matter to the floor of the house spoke in one voice saying that they will not only stop at appreciating Master Steven Udotong and Ms. Imeime Umana but will also move as a house to ensure that the state government support them as they are seen and proven worthy ambassadors of the state with their recorded achievement.
Lawmakers who spoke during the debate on the matter included Rt. Hon. Sir Udo Kierian Akpan (Deputy
Leader & Member Representing Oruk Anam), Rt. Hon. Elder Friday Iwok (Member, Abak) Hon. Prince Idyituen (Member, Itu), Hon. Usoro Akpanusoh (Member Esit Eket/Ibeno), Rt. Hon. Elder Aniekan Uko (Member, Ibesikpo/Asutan) and Hon. Samuel Ufuo (Member, Mbo).
The speaker thereafter directed the clerk of the house to formally communicate a formal appreciation from the House of Assembly to Master Udotong and Ms. Umana.
