As part of his commitment to build a better future for his people, to
uplift the poor, to empower the underprivileged and create wealth in the
smallest capacity he can, the Chief Whip, Akwa Ibom State House of
Assembly and member representing Ini State Constituency, Hon. Emmanuel
Ekpenyong Bassey on Wednesday the 22 of March, 2017, empowered his
people massively.
The constituency briefing / thanksgiving was well attend by top PDP members within and outside the State.
In his address, the Lawmaker said that the occasion is also to provide an open platform for free flow and back interactions between him and Ini people on issues that commonly affects them and towards finding a lasting solutions to them. Added that he has at all times strives to deploy his wealth of exposure to reach their full benefit.
While briefing his constituents on his achievements over the years in Agricultural sub-sector and Road sub-sector, Hon. Ekpeyong Bassey commend His Excellency, Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel for harkening to the cries of Ini people through his expedited intervention in their areas of need.
"As a unifying force for peace and reconciliation in Ini constituency, I have always gone extra mile to ensure that my doors remain open to all Ini people, irrespective of ideology, party or religious affiliations. I welcome all who come to me and also extend my token to all, without any shade of discrimination. "
"With a rich background in public service, I will continue to embrace and confer with the party, youths, women, traditional and religious leaders of my constituency to create harmony among all Ini people, while also sustaining the peace in the council area..."
The lawmaker also
pledged his support to always stand ready and willing to undertake any
other initiative or action necessary to reconcile and build the bonds of
brotherhood among various people, group and segment in Ini
Constituency.
High point of the occasion was the commissioning of the constituency packages by His Excellency, Deacon Udom Emmanuel.
The Items giving out were;
7 salon cars for ward executives
. 10 mini buses for 10 cooperative societies
. 10 motor bikes for 10 ward Chairmen and 5 youths leaders
. 1 saloon car for the youth leader
.13 set of triple bicycle for best student in 13 secondary schools
. 1000 copies of higher education books
. 150 customised bag pads for 150 students.
Other packages include 20 sewing machines
. 10 hair dryer/hair washing machines
. 10 sets of clippers/generators
. 50 sets of farm tools
. business support of N150k each for 20 youths and N20k each for 100 women for petty trading
