The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Technical Matters and Due process, Elder Ufot Ebong yesterday, visited members of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Obot Akara, Ward One, on a thank you meeting.

Speaking during the meeting, Elder Ebong, reiterated the commitment of Governor Udom Emmanuel to changing the lives of Obot Akara people, through the provision of jobs, which he maintained, will take the youths off the streets.

He thanked the people for taking the lead in uniting for the reelection of Governor Emmanuel and for unanimously endorsing him for a second term, arguing that, it was appropriate for the Governor to go for a second term, to equate the privilege enjoyed by past Governors.

"Since Obong Attah and Senator Goodwill Akpabio did eight years, then, Governor Udom Emmanuel must do eight years", he said.
Hinging on Proverb 1:10, the Governor's Aide charged them to remain focused and not listen to deceit by those on the other political divide and appealed to those of voting age to register in the the ongoing voters registration exercise.

"Governor Udom specifically told me that he is going to serve Akwa Ibom people to show them that government can work. Today we are really seeing the dividends of democracy even with the dwindling resources in his disposal", Ebong added.
Earlier in a solidarity message, the Member representing Obot Akara in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Idongesit Ntekpere lauded Obot Akara PDP stakeholders for staying strong and mobilising support for the Udom Emmanuel led administration and assured that, the Governor remains committed to delivering on his campaign promises.
He also assured them that the Party will fully integrate and carry them along in line with the political inclusion mantra of Governor Udom Emmanuel stated in his five point agenda.
On his part, the Chairman of PDP Elder Forum, Hon. Augustine Esau, thanked the SSA Elder Ebong and the House member Hon. Idongesit Ntekpere for finding time to attend the interactive session despite their busy schedule.
While declaring the meeting open, he said "the aim of this meeting is engaging people at the grassroots of Government achievements and uniting to ensure Governor Udom reelection.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of Two tricycles to youths by the house number and presentation of one tricycle and cash donation of 100,000 by the Elder Ufot Ebong.
The meeting was graced by Stakeholders in Obot Akara PDP Ward One, Elders, youth representatives, among others.
