Over five decades now, a nation that was once the zenith of
Development, a place that was once a banquets for academic excellence,
an institution of great technocrats and world - class scholars, a
community who produces the best - brained layers and confident'
professors, A city where the first American Missionaries chooses as
their 'abode' even before civilizations transcends other parts of
Africa; A place with a large expands of Aquatic resources which
attracted both Local and international traders and investors, A
congregation of folks who saw contentment as a pride and begging as 'sin
of sacrilege' has been outrightly left in a state of despair due to
impending and contagious disease called 'ignorance'. Oh ORO!
Ignorance here gave birth to all forms of poverty, greed, hatred,
bribe, oppression, intimidations, rejection, lack of visions,
hopelessness, poor leadership, mediocrity, servitude: all connecting
into a complex whole, posing untold Hardship and intermittent downfall
on the teaming innocent citizens.
These couldn't have happen for nothing, it happens for a purpose..
So that we may have a second thought, a thought that is enforced by
pains, shame, and defeat and driven by courage, love, Passions, and
commitment with a view to reawakening our Morales to regain the years
that cankerworms and caterpillars have eaten.
The fact hitherto
is that 'ignorance' has been our prey, the robber of our pride, not that
we weren't equipped with necessary weapons to fight back since, but the
Vail was just too alarming and the ugly trends very timirious. Let's
accept all these in good fate, believing that it was only a passage.
For us to grow out of this molestation and agony. It is no longer a
time to mount blames and point accusing fingers. It's a moment of
sobber reflection and reconciliation.
We need a platform to commission
our intentions and the envisioned platform is here, where we shall dig
into our past, consider the present and move majestically into the
future devoid of fear, anxiety, and tension.
The future where our
children will come to commend and celebrate a conducive legacy girded
with trust and sealed with confidence.
A future where the recovery of
one decade shall brought in excess all the decades we have lost, a
future where our rewards shall be in commensurate with our services to
our land and humanity, a future where we shall no longer be trampled
upon like slaves.
If we can't do it now, then no other time.

struggle; the tireless exertions of dedicated individuals"
