Job 22:29 KJV
“When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person”.
There is what is called and known as the mysteries of the kingdom of God. Jesus talked about it while teaching on the parable of the sower and the seed in Mark 4:11. When His disciples sought to know more, Jesus said “it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom”. As far as the welfare and promotion of believers are concerned it will remain a mystery to the world. As believer, we prosper in all seasons, but we particularly prosper even more in famine.
Call it recession, hard times, tough times, economic down turn or famine, believers have been programmed to make it big time in such conditions. If the world says there is recession, you should thank God because that is an announcement of your lifting. If you study your bible well enough, you would notice that our fathers prospered in famines and difficult times. Here are a few examples:
-Israel: (Exodus 1:11-12 KJV)
“Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses. But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel.”.
Isaac: (Genesis 26:1-2,12 KJV)
“And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him”.
