The police in Edo state have arrested the security guard of a Nigerian Army officer, Afisatu Ajuya, who connived with eight others to stab his boss to death, stole her properties and afterwards set her body on fire at her home on Ugiagbe stree, off First Ugbor road in Oredo local government area of Edo state on Saturday January 27th.
According to reports, Ajuya who is reportedly a Major in the Army, had returned from a trip outside the state on the day of the incident and was received by her security guard who is a hausa man. The guard helped her to take her traveling bag into her house where she lived alone as her children are said to be residing abroad.
The guard reportedly sneaked into the house later at night with his accomplices, stabbed her multiple times with metal objects and then began to move some of her properties. The guard thereafter set her body on fire to cover the crime. He then called on their neighbors that their home was on fire. When the neighbors arrived to rescue the boss, one of them saw him moving some of the properties of the deceased into a nearby uncompleted building. They suspected a foul play, apprehended him and thereafter handed him over to the police.
Confirming the incident, the state Commissioner of police, Johnson Kokumo, said the police is investigating the matter.
