Matthew 8:2-3 KJV
“And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed”.
The laws against leprosy and lepers were very clear and very harsh as well. Once a person was confirmed to be leprous, they were sent out of the city completely. And they were not permitted to be found among people for any reason. Anyone who touched them, or that they touched will become unclean immediately. For this reason, no one was supposed to touch them.
When this leper left the suburbs to meet with Jesus, he actually took a very big risk, but he had his secret weapon set and ready. His style of approach to Jesus was his secret weapon.
-His first approach was worship: He came worshiping and not complaining. Your worship would get God’s attention as quickly as anything you can ever think of.
-He came in faith: You could see his faith by the kind of statement he made as he came to Jesus. He said “if you will, you can make me whole”. What he meant by that was, “I do not doubt your ability, but I am not sure about your willingness”. So, he knew Jesus could heal him, but the law was against both him and Jesus. But worship gave him an edge over the law.
-Jesus touched him and said “I will, be clean”. Jesus touched him literally, why? Because worship touches God, which in turn causes God to touch you too.
Receive grace today to break any law against you by your worship in Jesus Name.
