Romans 13:8 KJV
“Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law”.
God cannot command you to owe no man, and then turn around to owe you anything. One way to get God to owe you is to give Him something in advance. If He has asked us to give 10% of our income to Him, and then you decided to give more than that, then He gets to owe you. But because He cannot owe any man, He would increase you heavily. I know of people who have used Tithing to determine their new level of blessing or promotion. If your salary was ten thousand naira, and you decide to tithe two thousand naira instead or one thousand, then you succeeded to put God in a position of debt, and He will come out of it by blessing you in the new level you have demanded by your prophetic tithing. It works the same way in thanksgiving.
When you thank God for what you have not seen, it puts you at an advantage. It begins to look like God now owes you; and God owes no man. As soon as you thank Him for His goodness even when things are rough with you, your account with Him will be credited immediately with goodness too numerous to mention. Such a practice immediately credits your account with God. Remember that we have accounts with God according to Philippians 4:17(amp), Paul desired credits to the accounts of the Philippians.
Jehoshaphat and Israel lifted up their voices in Praise to God in the midst of a life-threatening situation. Three kings and threes armies of multiple thousands were about to devour and finish them, yet they had the audacity to thank and Praise God. They shouted “praise the Lord for He is good and His mercies endures forever”.
Well, as true as day and night, everything turned around for them. A battle turned to an inexhaustible three days of harvest. What happened was that God credited their accounts for daring to Praise Him in the midst of danger.
Receive grace to Praise Him today; regardless of how grim your situation may be in Jesus Name.
