Acts 2:47 KJV
“Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved”.
Just a day before I wrote today’s devotional, my little boy at home asked me for one hundred naira as a school requirement for something to be purchased towards his exams. Within me, I thought that the amount was so small, so I located the money for him in a hurry. What followed after was what amazed me. He thanked me so profusely from his heart and with smiles of joy and happiness. I later discussed the occurrence with my wife, who confirmed that the little boy has a very good heart. I immediately began to look for what to do to improve his life further. I thought of a private teacher, then I decided to put him in a private school after a while. The same evening, I began to make arrangements for him to have new clothes. Just by one act of genuine gratitude.
In our text, we see that as the people praised the Lord, He gave them favour before all the people. The good news version of the Bible says the Lord gave them goodwill with all the people. When God sees the heart of gratitude you show towards Him, He gets to reward you by causing people to favour you. The hearts of kings are in the hands of the Lord, and He turns them any way He sees fit. So, God can turn the heart of anyone in your favour, but it will be on a platform of thanks and praise.
Our God is not a man, neither is He the son of man. He lives in another realm; a realm where murmuring does not work. Complaining and anger does not work with Him. God is not moved by your threat to backslide, neither is He moved by your tears. If you want to get God to favour you, thank Him from your heart. If you do not see what He has done to give Him the thanks He deserves, then you will not see it when He does anything new. Thanksgiving and praise makes God do more. Lift up your hands and start thanking Him now in Jesus Name.

i. Lord I now know that murmuring and complaining does not work with you.
ii. I repent for the many times I missed to appreciate you; forgive me Lord.
iii. I thank you in advance for all your plans for me in the future in Jesus Name.
Nugget
God is not moved by your threat to backslide, neither is He moved by your tears. If you want to get God to favour you, thank Him from your heart.
