Matthew 15:34-36 KJV
“And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude”.
There is nothing as beautiful as speed in dealing with life and life’s endeavours. It is always beautiful when you begin a thing and then watch it rise with speed in no time. However, nothing is as frustrating as stagnation or things moving at a slow pace for you. In the scriptures, we see that provisions have been made for speed in life, one of which is what we saw with Elijah when the hand of God came upon him in 1Kings 17:46. By the hand of the Lord, Elijah overtook the chariot of the king on foot.
But we see today in our text that thanksgiving is another viable way to achieve speed with whatever you are doing. Thanksgiving is a speed inducing element in dealing with God. Note that in the same verse where Jesus gave thanks, is where the bread mysteriously multiplied and was enough for everyone to eat to their satisfaction. That was speed right there. Imagine the speed with which Lazarus came forth from the grave after Jesus gave thanks. This is how things work in the kingdom of God all the time. No thanksgiving means no access, and to know thanksgiving is to know and enjoy unhindered access.
Make thanksgiving your lifestyle; both for today and for all times. Let your thoughts, words and actions will be punctuated with and by thanksgiving all the time. When you are stressed, thank Him, when you are disappointed, thank Him, and when you are desperate; in need for results, thank Him too. And watch your life gain tremendous speed in Jesus Name.
Action Points
i. Repent of every time you murmured instead of thanking.
ii. Begin to offer special thanks for that thing for which you need speed from today in Jesus Name.
Prayer
-Lord please fill my heart with gratitude in Jesus Name.
-I receive speed by gratitude in Jesus Name.
Nugget
No thanksgiving means no access, and to know thanksgiving is to know and enjoy unhindered access.
