Hebrews 12:1 KJV
“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us”.
Life is a race and in a race, time is of the essence. You cannot run your race successfully if you are ignorant of the fact that you have a race in the first place. Knowledge of your race puts fire to your feet and causes you to gain speed and focus in life. You should be running and not walking, because life is a race and you have to be urgent about it.
Secondly, not everyone will fulfill their assignment and finish their race in life. The reason is, not everyone wants to deal with the weights and sins of their lives. Apart from the enemy who does not want you to fulfill your destiny, the biggest enemy against your assignment are your weights; talking about your likes, dislikes, passion, habits, addictions, friends, etc.
You must identify those things in your life that possess the ability to stop you or frustrate your race of life; especially the sins that easily beset you. Consider such a sin or sins as your real enemy and constantly plot against it in your life by mortifying it through spiritual activities. “For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live”. Romans 8:13.
Receive the grace to run and win your race in Jesus Name.
Assignment
i. Read today’s devotional all over again.
ii. Mark and write down those things in your life that have the capacity to frustrate your assignment and your race.
iii. Set up a prayer covering for yourself with regards to what you have put down.
Prayer
-Lord empower me to run and finish my race, regardless of all the distractions of the enemy in Jesus Name.
-I receive the grace to run and not walk; I will blaze through life fulfilling my assignment in Jesus Name.
-I overcome all besetting sins and distracting weights in Jesus Name.
