Matthew 25:1-4 KJV
"Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps."
I eventually realized that wisdom is not taught but caught. That is why there is no course in any university known as “wisdom 101”. Wisdom is also not a class but a spirit, that was why James said when you lack wisdom you should ask of God that gives to all men. Wisdom is so important that Solomon said it is the principal thing, (Proverbs 4:7). And most of all, the Holy Spirit of God Himself has been referred to as the Spirit of wisdom. While Jesus is known as the wisdom of God.
I made all those references to let you know how important wisdom is. Our text reveals two set of people, they are all virgins, and all had their lamps, but something was wrong with the picture. One group had an extra vessel of oil while the other group had no extra oil. This singular action differentiated one half of five from the other. The extra oil made one group wise, and the lack of the extra oil made the other group foolish. Here is practical wisdom; what makes you different from others is that extra that you have. What makes you a wise person is that one extra step you take that others are not willing to take.
As a business person you will beat your competitors by your extra input. As a church worker you will be opened up to special favours from God by your extra Labour of love. As a spiritual person, wisdom would be the extra time you invest in prayer, study of the word and even Evangelism.
My counsel! In all that you do from now on, seek to make that extra input. Be blessed.

i. Ask God for the Spirit of wisdom from today.
ii. Seek maximum level excellence in all your work from now on.

-Lord please fill me with the Spirit of wisdom in Jesus Name.
