Romans‬ ‭12:1 MSG‬‬‬

“Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.”

Culture is the customary beliefs, social norms, and material traits of a racial, religious, or social group; it is also: the characteristic features of everyday existence (such as a way of life) shared by people.

It goes as far as affecting the attitudes, values, goals, and practices of this group of persons. Before Jesus comes into any life, they would have had ways by which they lived their lives and got things done. Some cultures are totally harmless and innocent, but there are cultures that are demonic and immature to the believer in the light of the scriptures.

When we got born again, God expected that our cultures will be replaced by the scriptures. The hallmark of a born gain and discipled believer is the fact that they no longer do things the way they used to. They have been seriously influenced by scripture to the point where they have no opinions of their own, other than to follow what is written. The scripture soon becomes their culture and their culture is now the scriptures.

We read the Bible daily according to Psalm 1:2-3 so we can be better acquainted with our new culture. And the more we practice this new culture, the more we prosper in all we do. God is only committed to working with you when there is great respect in your heart for the scriptures. When you do what is written, God will be committed to performing what He has written. It is all about what has been written.

Grace to live by the scriptures from this day in Jesus Name.
