Contrary to report credited to two foreign bodies, The International Police Association and the Institute for Economics and peace, which described the Nigeria Police as the worst in the world, facebook user, Mr. Edet Ndifreke took to his facebook page to bear his views, stating that 'corruption in the police is the product of the Nigerian society therefore, whatever rating given to Nigeria police is a true representation of the Nigerian society.'

After being disturbed by the media houses I choose to like for their news update to keep me informed about the happenings in the society, the news about the competency test of the Nigeria police being rated as the worst in the world has gone trending more than the real issues Nigeria is facing as a country .
I want to depart from their premise (the media) and sociologically state here that Nigeria police is not a foreign police but rather as the name implies is an indigenous agency that members are Nigerians working for Nigerians in Nigeria. Therefore whatever rating is given to Nigeria police is a true representation of the Nigerian society. The corruption in the police is the product of the Nigerian society.
Using a biological analogy (functionalism) to maintain my shift without any prejudice, when a particular part of the biological system is corrupt, the sub system is automatically corrupt. If anything affect an operating system the whole system will be formatted. If anything happens to the eye the nose suffers too..
Let me emphatically state here that as Nigerians, we have not gotten it right before in all successive government. Show me any agency in Nigeria that will pass any global competency test .Is it the EFCC, ICPC, INEC, SENATE, REPS, CUSTOMS, OR JUDICIARY? IS IT NAVY, AIRFORCE,, ARMY, FRSC, OR EVEN YESTERDAY NSCDC? just name them.
Moreover let me ask us some questions:The Popular Abacha loots that has placed Nigeria in the blacklist of global corruption was he a police officer? The MRS ALISON MADUEKE BILLION OIL LOOTS was it masterminded by the police? Olisa metuh, Maina, Babachir lawal and their cohort was masterminded by the police? The trillions of naira and billions of dollars found in judges quarters were all kept by the police? The Ikoyi millions was kept in by the police? Why do we always take sides when it comes to police issues? in fact our mind is corrupt and as a matter of fact we need a psychologist for examination as a country.
I will never support the police! Yes they are corrupt but their corruption is a product of circumstances they found themselves! As the society are ,so as the police are. visa vis! The product is garbage in garbage out. Have you asked yourself why they become outstanding when they are on UN mission? Where is Botswana police in peace keeping?
In my conclusion, the Pm of the United Kingdom Cameron said and I quote "Nigeria is fantastically corrupt " and our president gave a node to that and said I know it is true we are corrupt.. Then what's the surprise that this corrupt newspapers will not allow me to rest with their worthless notifications. Unless and until the mother system "Nigeria society "is fully formatted off the virus called "corruption" Nigerian Agencies will not even have an "E" grade in future global competency test. For Nigerians commenting ,blasting the police, there is no smoke without fire. Ask BOTSWANA how their environment is before their success and then come back to applaud Nigeria police!!!
NDIFREKE EDET.
