Psalm 1:1-3 KJV
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
If you must be fruitful in the first place, and be as fruitful as you should be at all, then you must understand the power of divine positioning for it. There is a right soil for cassava and for yam, and there is the right soil for rice and beans. Any attempt to plant any of these in the place of the other, will result in unfruitfulness. In the same manner, any believer who is planted amongst the sinner, the ungodly and the scornful will not be as prosperous and fruitful as they should. That would be a wrong positioning for them.
Walking in the counsel of the ungodly has already frustrated the hand of God in your life. When God asks you to do one thing or the other, the influence from your ungodly associates will make it extremely hard for you to obey. Standing in the way of sinners in itself is an unprosperous move, because Joshua 1:8 says when we obey the word, we would make our way prosperous and then have good success.
Also, making friends with the scornful or mockers is pitching your tent against God and things that are holy, because mockers are unserious people who mock, ridicule and jest with everything, including holy things. Certainly not a good positioning for bringing forth your fruit in your season.
Grace for correct, fruitful and prosperous positioning in Jesus Name.
Assignment
i. Wean yourself of all kinds of uncomplimentary associations today.
ii. Think of anyone who dampens your spirit each time you meet them, and make it really hard for your paths to cross easily.
iii. Choose likeminded friends for yourself; make friends with people that can sharpen you.
Prayer
-Lord I thank you for today's word in Jesus Name.
-Father I receive the grace to wean my associations today in Jesus Name.
-Lord please give me positive friends of like minds in Jesus Name.
