Acts 1:8 KJV
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
Do you have the Holy Spirit, do you speak or pray in other tongues, do you feel the presence of God upon you, and do you hear God? If any of these are in the affirmative, then you must further answer the following questions: Are you a soul winner? Do people come to Jesus through you on a regular basis? If your answers are in the negative (i.e. “No”), then you received the grace of God in vain. It means that you have been a liability to God rather than an asset. It means you have been one of those who have been drawing the kingdom of God backward.
The Holy Spirit is given to you specifically for the purpose of turning people to Jesus Christ. Our text spells it out when it said “you shall receive power after the Holy Ghost comes upon you, and you shall be witnesses unto me...”. So, receiving and having the Holy Spirit without being a witness is almost a sin. The Holy Spirit was not given for tongues alone, neither was He given for the high feeling you get when He moves upon you alone. But Jesus said it is for the purpose of witnessing or evangelizing. You had Better go out with the Holy Spirit and let Him evangelize through you.
There is a power at work in you that you will never know until you reach out to souls around you. That power is waiting for you to make the moves to souls. It is a power like nothing you have ever known, it is a creative and miracle working power. It is called “dunamis” or dynamite power. It is a very highly explosive power, and it is at work in you and waiting for you to begin the work of evangelism, so it can express itself. I conclude therefore that you will be guilty of wasting God’s resources (in the person of the Holy Spirit) if you fail to win souls into the kingdom of God. If you have the Holy Ghost, then you ought to be a soul winner.
Receive grace to win souls with urgency in Jesus Name.
