Mark 12:30-31 KJV
“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy
heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength:
this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt
love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than
these.”
There are things that make life possible in the first
place, and one of such is oxygen. Life is absolutely impossible without oxygen
as it is a major requirement for life to go on. Even God Himself said "let
everything that has breath praise the Lord";(Psalm 150:6). After God
formed the dust body of man, He breathed breath into man, so man could become a
living soul. So, imagine life without oxygen?
In the same vein, life is not possible without love.
One of the reasons we live is to love. Life can only work where love is
working. Imagines a father without love, a husband and wife without love,
imagine a neighbour without some love in their lives? It is love that makes a
husband treat his wife well, it is love that makes a neighbour come to your
rescue in troubled times. It is love that would make another motorist to offer
help on the road to a stranded motorist.
The world is impossible without love. The more people
live without love in their lives, the worse the world will get. Imagine that we
have more armed robbers than we have now? See the damage that selfishness has
caused in the world already; see the wars, the mistreatments of people and the
maltreatment of children. See the way children die from manhandling and the
wickedness of people. You can't imagine how many newly born babies are
discovered in sewage tanks and other odd places each day.
This world needs
love. Believe me, Jesus gave us the answer; and in a two-way love system. Love
God with all your heart and love people the way you love yourself. This is how
to live life. Life lived any other way will cause pain, deaths, calamities,
wars and increased wickedness.
Receive grace to love people the way you love yourself
in Jesus Name.
Assignment
i. Ask the Lord to teach you how to love.
ii. Determine to love people anywhere the very best way you can.
iii. Express love, and begin with your family, your spouse, siblings, parents
and neighbours.
Prayer
-Lord please fill my heart with love.
-Father please teach me how to demonstrate love the best way possible in Jesus
Name.
-Teach me to love you and to love myself as well in Jesus Name.
Nugget
Love God with all your heart and love people the way you love yourself; this is
how to live life.
