13:35 NKJV
“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one
another.”
The world does not care too much about what we have to
say. Too many people are talking everywhere; politicians are talking, and most
of what comes out of their mouths are lies. Teachers are in the talking
business as well, mostly talking about things they never get to practice. So,
we cannot join the multitude of noise makers out there, we must do things
differently. Jesus said, the only way people will know we are real, is when
they see the love that exist amongst us.
We have not made Christianity attractive enough to the
unbelieving world. They know the difference, because they constantly live in
hate and wickedness. That is what they see every day and they are used to it,
even though they don't like it. So, when they see something different, it
wouldn't take them time to identify it. Unbelievers exploit themselves, they
steal from themselves, they manipulate and take advantage of each other for
selfish gains all the time.
They are immoral, they sleep with each other's
daughters and wives, etc. So, when they see the same things happen amongst
believers, it is like automatically closing the doors of salvation to them.
They would rather do what they do as unbelievers and not as believers.
Here are few ways we can demonstrate love amongst
ourselves as believers:
i. Think good of people, especially fellow believers: Reject and cast off all
forms of negative, evil and lustful thoughts about fellow brethren.
ii. Never talk evil about anyone especially fellow brethren: You never know who
was standing nearby and listening. You will never know what damage it could
cause to their hearts about God and God's people.
iii. Be prompt to offer help when it is in your power to do so, especially to
believers of the household of faith: Believe me, people want to belong to a
community where genuine love is shared and shown.
iv. Make it a duty to pray daily for members of your little Christian
community, like your house fellowship: Imagine how powerful it is for your
house fellowship members to discover that you have been praying for them.
Receive grace to do so in Jesus Name.
