Isaiah 54:1-3 NKJV
“Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate Than the children of the married woman,” says the LORD. “Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, And your descendants will inherit the nations, And make the desolate cities inhabited.”
Why would God ask a barren woman to sing? Of all the things that they can do and should do, singing should not be one of them, going by natural thinking. However, God says a childless woman should sing. I want to explore this a little bit.
i. Singing is one of the most powerful ways to make yourself feel better: It is bad enough that you are childless; depression should not be added to the equation as well. That would be double punishment.
ii. Singing is the only way to get into God's presence: Hence the psalmist said ‘enter His presence with singing’; Psalm 100:2. So when you sing, God's presence increases around you, and this makes it easy for Him to work faster and better in your life.
iii. Singing keeps demonic spirits away: What keeps God around you is automatically what drives demons away. God and demons cannot inhabit the same place. So, if God inhabits you, and your fruitlessness was caused by wrong spirits, then their activities would be terminated and God would have had the right atmosphere to work; thus, resulting in the end of your barrenness.
iv. Do this for all cases of unfruitful situation in your life and the results will be just the same.
