TOROBONG
EKPO
From
my painstaking findings, I have come to the realise that Akwa Ibom State is
embedded with both FAIRLY USED (popularly known as tokunbo) and READY-MADE
sycophants with unction of spreading and praising the government to a point
that the leader of the government may look stupid and ridiculous before the
eyes of reasonable and well thinking members of the public.
Internet
has also turned Akwa Ibom elders and adult into juvenile.
It
has changed our culture to that of Pharisees, where some politicians empower
not to receive blessing from Above but to be seen as a "good guys" in
the public domain.
Empowerment
is no more given to deserving ones, but to the people who could write and tag
as many lousy commentators as possible with a view of massaging the ego of
their masters and bosses.
I
know of a public office holder who pays someone just to munch post posted on
WhatsApp groups to him, and I wonder if such muncher could be said to be an
aide on SCREEN SHOOTING to the politician.
What
could cause such habit?
I
think, aside from unemployment, continuous encouragement of these online
prisoners by politicians and maybe State hierarchy (as alleged in some
quarters) may be the reason why our youths are now dreaming dreams instead of
seeing vision as proclaimed by the Holy Book.
Politicians
want to be seen as Comforters, Givers, Integrity Driven, Truthful, Helpers,
when in actual sense, they are Tokunbo sycophants.
They
want to be seen as mixers, evangelists, pastors when in actual sense they are
worse than ritualists.
I
can recall a pathetic medical incident that needed about 15 million naira for a
native to fly to India for kidney transplant.
The
sitippe ke Akwa Ibom and other bloggers campaigned heavily for the rescue of
the patient, do you know till date that sum has not been raised?
But
do you also know that if Linda Ikeji had published with Nation and other
National Newspapers carrying same pathetic story as advertorial, the government
of the day would have stepped in and take charge of the medical bill?
Thus,
with such illustration, who do you think is encouraging Fairly Used and
Ready-made sycophants in our dear state?
An
online report once claimed that the leadership of the state appears to be
giving nods to such sycophancy. Well, I can only perceive such statement as
rumour, as it has not been proven by a competent court of law.
However,
I see no reason why government officials should be celebrating controversial
power supply when STREET LIGHTS in Uyo metropolis are celebrating second year
anniversary of TOTAL BLACKOUT. Or are we not aware?
I
am optimistic that if Linda Ikeji carries the blackout anniversary celebration
on her blog, the governor will be moved to do something like he did when the
blogger published the deplorable state of Etinan General Hospital, a place
where the first civilian governor of Akwa Ibom State hailed.
Some
weeks ago, a Medical Doctor lecturing in University of Nigeria, Nsukka drew my
attention to accolades lavishly and ignorantly poured on the governor of Akwa
Ibom State, Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel for being able to pay some workers
salary, (even when pension and gratuity of pensioners have been paid only on
broadcasting and online media).
Off
course the civil service law doesn't allow civil servants to grant interview to
the Press as such they are "Civilized deaf and dumb", so anyone can
lie against them.
To
the lecturer, the news was a fairy tale and inconsequential, until I drew his
attention to the fact that, the Managing Director of Exxon Mobil, Mr. Paul
Arinze had told the state lawmakers that his company gives more than 30 billion
naira every year to the government invariably implying that for two years in
government, Udom Emmanuel led administration has gulp more than 60 billion
naira from Exxon Mobil in addition to 45 billion naira the governor borrowed
for industrialization, the unexposed Internally Generated Revenue (IGR),
monthly Federal Allocation, cash from Paris refund among others.
I
drew his attention to the dilapidated nature of Science Colleges in Akwa Ibom
State and informed him on how the government renovated Etinan General hospital,
months after Linda Ikeji published the eyesore on her blog.
As
I was sharing thoughts with the lecturer, the man stammered on telephone and
started asking the short, medium and long term plans for the youth.
Of
course, I informed him that about 5000 youths were sacked from teaching work
adding that there is hope for the youths as they usually embark on prayer
session every month.
I
went further to tell the University don that the monthly programme is tagged
"AKWA IBOM YOUTHS PRAY", noting that the last one took place in Ikot
Abasi LGA, with some public office holders such as Hensek and Uduak Ududo
presented with awards.
I didn't want him to ask what they did to deserve those awards as I wasn't in
the know if ambition for second term could deserve an award.
Though,
I was aware that quest for a second term could deserve symbolic gifts and
jamboree as was done to Udom. Truth is, I didn't know if award could be given
to individual in dire need of second term.
While
gisting with the medical doctor, I was wondering why a wages (salary) accrued
to a labourer could be seen as achievement on the part of a governor who has
prefix DEACON attached to his first name.
I
was wondering if a Christian of that standing has never flipped through the
Bible portion, "A labourer deserves his wages"
Thus,
why should people attribute the payment of salary as an achievement of the
governor?
Yet,
they couldn't also attribute the nonpayment of pension, compensation to the
natives of coconut factory, abandonment of Ibom Specialist Hospital, Tropicana
Galleria, Ibaka Deep Seaport, Ntiedo Street, Uyo-ikot Ekpene roads among others
as failure of the present government led by Udom Emmanuel...
...
I mean, HIS EXCELLENCY UDOM GABRIEL EMMANUEL. (apologies to media handlers of
His Excellency, their press releases as well as other online agents)
I
was angry in my spirit until another post emerged from the social media
claiming that, Shelter Afrique, Ewet Housing and other Government Residential
Areas (GRA's) now have increasing power supply courtesy of a certain power
substation allegedly built under the leadership of the governor.
Imagine,
when our neighbouring country like Ghana is celebrating years of constant power
supply, we are portraying controversial 18 hours power supply in GRA's and
other parts of the Uyo metropolis as a big achievement of the governor.
Well,
Agama lizard had vowed to praise itself even when no one gives him accolade,
thus, one may describe such achievement as PRAISES OF AGAMA LIZARD. So, this is
not a joking matter. It has to do with Agama Lizard theory.
However, for the benefit of doubt, are we not aware of Adjunct Streets of Itu
Road with constant power supply since 2002, yet no resident took to the
internet to rant as some gullibles are showcasing their loquacious talents in
recent times.
Have
we forgotten that Afaha Ubeh street off Ikot Ekpene Road has constant light
since the era of Obong Victor Attah's led government?
What
is so special about one power station built by a governor after two years of
administration? Well, Legendary AGAMA knows better.
In
my thinking, a long-sighted and visionary leader who has built a sub power
station ought to have made provision for the upgrade or replacement of
electrical transformers on areas that need same.
Such
leader should have tried to ensure that there is CONSTANT not CONTROVERSIAL
INCREASE of power supply in some areas.
For
instance, while Housing Estates (where the wealthy lives) are enjoying increase
in power supply, the SUPPLY at Aka Etinan, Obio Etoi (with particular reference
to Redemption Academy Avenue) Mbierebe Obio et al - where the masses and about
600 sacked teachers live, is worst than the military era of Adewusi and Bako.
Some
times I wonder what Udom Emmanuel or his fans would have done if he was
Idongesit Nkanga, who quietly built State Secretariat.
I
can't imagine the kind of ecstasy that would have radiated from his face if he
was Attah who constructed four lane, (where he now has a cubicle to build power
station)
Or
Akpabio who built Stadium, Constructed Use Ikot Amama, Ibom Tropicana,
Specialist Hospital and other projects...
Though,
Akpabio's achievements weren't a quiet one, but can Udom Emmanuel just emulate
the virtue of that Federal Government Intervention Agency who quietly
constructed Internal Roads in Federal, State, Akwa Savings and Loans Estates,
turned former Ukana Offot, Nsentip death traps to Streets and Avenue?
Anyway,
his fans later exposed the humility and quietness of the agency as I could
recall when a media aide to the governor claimed that the construction of Ukana
Offot death trap was done by the State Government.
I
won't describe the submission of the aide as ignorance, rather I will see it as
breach of communication channel between him and his boss...but that alone was a
criminal offence.
Though,
it is a crime to plagiarized someone's intellectual property, but as humble and
tolerance as the Federal Government, the agency pardoned the aide and in turn
put smiles on the faces of Akwa Ibomites to a point that a serving Commissioner
solicited for partnership.
What
is the essence of blowing the trumpet of Udom Emmanuel when the site of Coconut
Industry is currently suffering from controversies between natives and
government as a result of lack of compensation.
What
is the rationale behind commending someone who wants to reconstruct Akwa Ibom
Government House in Lagos State at the detriment of our citizens who are
suffering from flood in our dear state? Even when the Federal Government
ecological fund is said to have been ready to our dear state.
You
that is busy shouting and defending Udom, please be responsible and independent
enough to soliloquy on your gains and achievements as well as that of your
immediate family, ward etcetera.
Have
you forgotten that but not for the annulment of election by Court of Appeal,
you would have still been an ILLITERATE and FOOL? then what are you bragging
when you have never had a close interface with the one you boasted as you boss?
Bros,
wake up!
On
your torchlight!
The
journey needs you to shine your eye more than the torch light.
Where
are we heading to?
Or
are we emulating Wike's kind of administration?
Such
that, If he doesn't expose his Paris refund cash, we will also keep mute. If he
grants amnesty to some guys, we also try to do same in futility.
If
he kicks against FG Intervention Agency, we also do same.
Anyway,
we can continue with this tombotombo pattern, but I think We must pause and
think.
What
is the essence of clapping hand for someone who sells unwa anya nya garri at a
cheaper rate to the public? Was adulterated garri meant to be sold at a higher
price?
Haba,
these days even at the state secretariat, I saw scores of lunatic wandering
everywhere... And I ask, are we safe?
When
lunatics are seen everywhere within Uyo metropolis...
...courts
notified the public that they may relocate from Ukanafun to Abak as a result of
Insecurity...
...media
practitioner notified the governor via an open letter on breach of contract...
...yet
we still perceive increase in power supply as an achievement,
Then,
it's either some members of the public have been hypnotized by their ancestors
or Akwa Ibom is Jaga Jagaing.
If
increase in power supply in Government Residential Areas is seen as achievement
of the governor, then very soon, the act of taking bath, washing hands after
eating, greeting a fellow being, and even wearing clothes will be documented as
GREATER ACHIEVEMENT.
...this
is because we are operating under AGAMA LIZARD THEORY.
Happy
new month... Great people!
CALAMITY
SHALL NEVER BEFALL US THE SECOND TIME IN JESUS NAME... AMEN.
I
wish you well.
