Habakkuk 2:4 KJV
“Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.”
By the principle of first mention, we can see that this phrase gets its real meaning from this verse of scripture. It has been mentioned a few more times in the Bible, but it was presented as "the just shall live by faith" (Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38); all these three verses were trying to re-echo what Habakkuk 2:4 said earlier, and their renditions were okay. But the original text included the word "His".
The just shall not live by the faith of anyone else other than his own faith. Other people's faith may help you once in a while, but you will not be able to constantly live by them. Faith is a very personal thing, it is private and individualistic. There are situations where no one’s faith will work for you other than your faith. No one can eat for you, no one can pass waste for you, and most certainly, no one can exercise for you. These are things you must do for yourself.
Remember that Jesus said to the woman with the issue of blood "your faith has made you whole"? He said to Bartimeaus "your faith has made you whole", same as the leprous man, etc. Everyone had to develop their own faith for their various miracles and breakthroughs. Jesus had to ask His disciples one time about their faith. He said "where is your faith"? Meaning that they had it but either did not use it or did not develop it.
Receive grace to build and use your faith in Jesus Name.
Assignment
-Begin a daily regimen of very massive word intake by way of preaching, reading and study of the Bible, etc.
-Ask God to increase your faith.
-Put your faith to work as many times in the day, week or month as possible.
Prayer
-Lord I choose to live by my faith from today in Jesus Name.
-I receive the grace to build a strong and effective faith life in Jesus Name.
