I John 5:4 NKJV
“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.”
I came across a video on the internet (Facebook precisely), where the process of fertilization of a woman's egg by a man's sperm was animated.
They demonstrated the movement of so many sperm cells that began to race towards the woman's egg in the tube, and only one cell was going to do the job amongst the millions.
The race was fierce, very fierce, yet a winner emerged. Whoever won was he or she that was born; which today, happens to be you and I. The kind of race we won to qualify for birth was so fierce and tough.
Millions of sperm cells had to be won and overcome for you to be born. So, you were an overcomer from birth and I know you were born to overcome too, it's in you.
If all truths are parallel, and they are; it also means that you were spiritually born to overcome as well.
The process may not have been the same, but out of billions of people who have come into this world, you were amongst the few to be born again at this time.
It means you already overcame in the spirit. Besides that, there is faith in you for the very purposes of overcoming.
The day you gave your heart to Jesus, a measure of faith was born in you, and that faith was given for your victory.
That is why the word says "this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith". Your faith by itself is victory already; even before the fight began.
I, like many others, had asked why God would allow troubles come our way every now and then. I got the answer from our today’s text long ago. Some of the reasons God allows troubles our way are as follows:
i) He knew we were already overcomers: That was why He comfortably boasted of Job, He knew what stuff Job was made off, He knew Job would not fail. It is the same with you.
ii) It is an opportunity to exercise your faith: The faith is there but it has to be trained from time to time against the bigger challenges the enemy might throw our way. That is why James said that the trial of our faith works perseverance (patience).
iii. God loves to see us win: Every problem or challenge that arises only comes to be overcome. The destiny of every challenge is defeat and eventual glory to God.
Receive grace to exercise your birth right of victory in Jesus Name.
Assignment
i. Repent of every time you accused and blamed God for the challenges in your life.
ii. Thank God for the victory you already have from now on.
iii. Take steps to build your faith and make it stronger from today.
Prayer
-Lord I thank you for every challenge I have ever come across in Jesus Name.
-Lord I thank you for the many victories ahead of me in Jesus Name.
-I walk in endless victories from this day in Jesus Name.
Nugget
The day you gave your heart to Jesus a measure of faith was born in you, and that faith was given for your victory; you are victorious.
