One of the ways the devil keeps us locked up in the prison of suffering is through the bad habit of making excuses.
What most people don't understand is that every time you make an excuse for not doing any task or overcoming any challenge presented before you, you send a message to your subconscious mind that you serve a God that is not able therefore you are incapable.
Overtime you register impossibilities and inadequacies in your mind and give yourself life sentence to unfruitfulness, unproductiveness, and ultimately suffering.
Whatever you have not yet become you talked yourself out of. Whatever you did not do, you excused yourself from.
Excuse is one of the most damaging and destructive weapons of the devil in sabotaging the destinies of many. An excuse is lethal to your destiny because it is something you tell yourself.
Its power is in its ability to demoralize and paralyze you into inaction. You act based on your commands, and if you have commanded yourself not to act because of an excuse, then not even God can command you to act.
God speaking to the children of Israel through the Prophet Moses said to them, "I have set before you this day, life and death. Choose life." God has given you the will power to decide what you want to do with your life and God cannot violate that choice of your will.
God can only instruct and counsel you on the best course of action to take but ultimately you have the final say on what to do with your life.
The choice of the devil is always trying to put you down and telling you what you cannot do and why you should not do, but you don't have to listen to that voice.
This is why on the last day you will be held accountable for all your decisions. All of heaven and hell knows that nobody can compel you to do anything, not even God, not the devil, angels, your friends, or your spouse.
The power of choice is always yours. You are the captain and the master of your soul. When you understand this, then you will know how your life turns out ultimately is entirely your responsibility.
Circumstances and situations may not be in your favor but you have the power to turn it around by the decisions you make, and you have to be wise on what decision you make.
Don't excuse yourself from success, rather excuse yourself from failure. Don't excuse yourself from taking action, but excuse yourself to take action. Don't excuse yourself not to use your gift, but excuse yourself to use your gift because your gift is what will bring you out of the prison of suffering.
Many are struggling with so much self-esteem issues because the devil never wants any believer to come to the knowledge of their giftedness of that they have anything to offer.
He is always telling you that it is too late, it's too early. Don't do this, you didn't do that, you are too old, you are too young, you are never going to get in this position, you can't make it, you don't have what it takes, etc, etc.
These are all excuses, and as long as he can get you not to know that you are gifted then he can get you not to use your gift. And if you cannot use your gift you will never get out of the prison called suffering.
