"Say hello to the richest girl in the room."
Tonia had barely entered the room as she started boasting to the girls.

"Hmm. Because you've been able to hold a job for three months now, we no go hear word." Chichi answered.

Damilola and Biola are just eager to hear what she has to say.

"Ok o, aunty millionaire, welcome. Wetin happen?" Biola teased.

"There's this customer that is a regular at the eatery, cool, handsome, rich guy like that. He tips well." She said as she brought out a bail of two hundred naira bills from her handbag.

"Wow. So, he gave you this? 20k?" Said Damilola, her eyes popping.

"Yes o, he also gave me his complimentary card. We've been talking for a few weeks now and he said he could help me with a better job." Tonia explained.

"Hehehe. Hope it's not what I'm thinking? You better be careful." Chichi said as she stood up to leave the house.

She was going hawking that evening, she was going alone as the others were too tired to go.

"You dey go bakery?" Tonia asked.

"Yes na, how I for do? As these lazybones no wan go, I no fit join them na."

"Ok, You and I know the average profit you make, I will pay you for today. Don't go." Tonia pleaded.

When Usman brought her into the compound, she was happy.

Happy she would be living in such a huge, beautiful house.

The compound was big, almost two acres, with gravel paved driveways, flowers along the fences and a beautiful garden right at the centre.

The building itself looked regal, painted white with brown roof.

From outside, it looked like the house couldn't contain less than a dozen rooms.

On getting inside, she was dumbfounded.

It was even more beautiful on the inside than the outside.

The furnishings and fixtures were out of this world. The chairs looked like those seen in palaces. The floors well tiled and the centre persian rug screamed luxury.

"Sit down, let me call my mum." Usman said.

Oh, the chair was soft and felt good. Tonia had never sat on anything like it before.

"Good afternoon dear." She heard a voice from the direction of the staircase.

It was a woman in her fifties, petite, beautiful with glowing, smooth, brown skin. One would never have guessed her age, if not for her son.

She was wearing a beautiful, long, flowered chiffon dress, her head covered with a lush, thick red turban.

Mrs. Danladi was by all standards, a beautiful woman.

"Good afternoon ma." Tonia answered as she courtsied.

"How are you? You are Tonia?" She asked.

"Yes ma."

"Ok, my son says you are a good girl, hence my agreeing to employ you as my assistant. You would be required to move in with me here as I could need you at any time of the day. Is that Okay by you?" She asks, looking at Tonia.

"Yes ma, it's fine ma, I don't mind at all." She says, smiling as she looks around the living room.

She resumed work the following Monday with her bag, which contained her clothes and shoes.

She didn't like the fact that she had to live in the boys quarters, But she had no choice. It was better than living in a room with three other girls.

She was led to the room by an elderly woman, Mama Sidi, the cook.

The room was almost the same size as the one she lived in with the girls, though better equipped and furnished.

There was a firm bed, with bedside drawers, a fan and a built in wardrobe.

The room also had it's own bathroom and toilet.

"This is good." She thought.

No more sharing of toilet with anyone.

"Madam says you are expected to resume in the main house by 7pm, and you will follow her wherever she goes.

You will eat in the main building as well, so all you need to to here is to sleep and clean up. My own room is next to yours here. I suggest you drop your bag and come for breakfast. Madam would be going out soon."

All the rambling from this middle aged woman seemed too much to comprehend, but she knew she'll be fine.

"Tonia, get me my shoes from my room." Mrs. Danladi told Tonia.

She eventually got dressed after what seemed like an hour and they left the house in a Range rover evoque.

The driver had already parked at the front entrance and had the engine running.

The air conditioning was on and chilling, Tonia sat in front with the driver and felt a cold blast of air hit her as she sat.

"Hehehe. I pray I don't die of cold today. I need to get a sweater as soon as possible. Ki otutu ma pa mi o(may I not die of cold)."

She thought.

They went to the bank first, then to the market at Idumota.

Mrs. Danladi had a big jewelry shop in the market. It was a sight to behold. Everywhere Tonia looked, there were jaw dropping trinkets of different colours, shapes and dimensions.

After spending an hour or two at the market, they left and stopped at the Dandidi Empire.

An office complex Tonia heard housed the offices one of the biggest conglomerates in Lagos and the country at large.

Mrs. Danladi was greeted with utmost respect by all the staff members they encountered on their way.

They eventually made their way to the CEO's office, and Tonia was made to wait at the secretary's office.

After some minutes, Mrs. Danladi came out of the office in the company of her son: Usman. Tonia was surprised, so Usman is the CEO of this huge and popular conglomerate????

How could that be? Usman is such a humble man. No one could have guessed.

"I need to get more friendly with this guy, I need to become the Queen of this castle, not a maid." Tonia told herself.
