Assistant Inspector General of police, Zone 5, AIG Abubakar Adamu Mohammed has commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for its fight against economic and financial crimes.
The AIG stated this today, June 5, when
he received the Benin Zonal Head, Mailafia Yakubu, who paid him a
courtesy visit in his office.
The AIG commended the effort of the EFCC
in restoring Nigeria's image amongst the comity of nations hitherto
bastardized by internet fraudsters.
He said he and his team will
support the EFCC to achieve its mandate as a law enforcement agency.
"The work of the EFCC and the Nigeria Police is similar.
The EFCC
cleanses the system of corruption while the Nigeria Police create an
enabling environment for the citizens of the country. We are to work to
make the society better for all of us." he said. He assured the EFCC of
their support at anytime in terms of men and materials.
Earlier, Yakubu who led other EFCC officers had told the AIG that the essence of the visit was to seek their support as the Benin office begins operations.
