SCRIPTURE: For David after he had served his generation by the will of God, fell on sleep and was laid unto his fathers and saw corruption. Acts 13:36.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: God specializes in bringing greatness out of littleness.

David was a perfect example of a man who maximized his life by living and serving according to the Will of God.

God, angels, human beings and even demons can attest to the fact that he served his generation and did not waste his life on earth.

He operated in every realm of gift and talent available – he was a prophet, priest, king, shepherd, songwriter, musician, inventor of musical instruments, lion killer, giant killer, military general, etc. David was a great man.
The question is, was David born great? Not at all! David was a little boy from a humble background who was made great.

When God wanted to anoint David, God told Samuel to go to the house of Jesse in Bethlehem (1 Samuel 16:1). As a matter of fact, Bethlehem was a tiny part of the land of Judah (Micah 5:2), but God decided that a king should come out of there. Jesse was not a prominent man in Bethlehem but God decided to choose a king (David) out of his house.

This illustrates the fact that there is potential greatness in littleness. It also shows that God specializes in bringing greatness out of littleness.

Beloved, it does not matter how obscure your family and village is, God can bring you from the background to the forefront by His anointing.

Remember this: God specializes in bringing greatness out of littleness.
