Hebrews 11:11 NKJV
“By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and
she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him
faithful who had promised.”
Sarah did not just get pregnant because God promised her so, rather she got pregnant because she received strength to do so.
Note, it didn't say "she received strength to deliver", no! Rather she received strength to conceive; to get pregnant. She had great difficulty getting pregnant, and she could only get pregnant by receiving strength to do so.
This strength is known as "dunamis" in the original Greek translation, and this strength or dunamis can only come by faith. As we all know, faith in itself, comes by the word of God according to Romans 10:17.
Dunamis actually means "force or miraculous power". It is the same kind of power that Jesus said His apostles would receive after the Holy Spirit had come upon them in Acts 1:8. The question now is, ‘how did Sarah connect to this kind of strength; what did she do, how did she go about It?’ Our text says it came by faith, but she had to do something to herself, namely: her mind and spirit.
She judged Him faithful who had promised her. There is a time when all that is in your head tries to tell you of how mean and unfaithful God is; especially when you have been waiting for Him to answer you for about 25 years.
But the day you choose not to accuse, attack or doubt Him anymore, but rather believe Him, by seeing Him differently and judging Him differently; you are in for the ultimate show up of God.
When Sarah came to the point of absolute trust in God, when she reached that point where it didn't matter anymore, where she said "child or no child, God is faithful"; then she got her miracle. This is a point where she must have said, "my case will not make you cease to be God".
"You are God, whether I conceive or not". She must have concluded by saying "I judge you faithful, I declare that you are faithful, I pronounce you faithful in my life, and you don't have to do anything else for me".
But most importantly, I could hear Sarah say "I am almost 90 years of age, yet you say I will conceive a child, though it is impossible with men, I judge you faithful to do as you have said". Mary got it so well when she said " be it unto me according to your word".
This is how I believe Sarah received the strength she needed to conceive. This means that power/strength or dunamis is released when we engage in these kinds of practices.
Receive strength to conceive in Jesus Name.
