Akwa Ibom State PDP Publicity Secretary , Barr. Ini Ememobong, has
described the Maiden PDP Open Media Day as a huge success. He gave the
submission in a chat with newsmen, shortly after the open session at the State Secretariat of the party along Edet Akpan Avenue Uyo.
The PDP Open Media Day was designed as an intellectual discourse
involving a panel of discussants and an audience in an interactive
session and was open to all persons across party and ethnic lines who
were specially invited to participate in the session.
The theme set
for discourse was, 'Doing things right and Doing the right thing '.
Participants and the discussants took time out to deliberate on the full
meaning of the theme vis- a- vis the calling of leadership.
Barrister Ini Ememobong who was the convener and chief resource person
in his remark, held that, the PDP Open Media Day was conceived to take
youths away from politics and add value to their lives by brainstorming
and meeting minds to learn something new.
He hoped that the session will
equip youths who he described as, 'leaders of today in their
respective spheres of influence', with the needed mindset and
preparation to take great decisions that will yield the best possible
outcome and good to the greatest number.
He inferred that, while doing
the right thing is about the result, doing things right,on the other
hand, is about the procedure .
The session was attended by several youth leaders including the State Youth Leader of PDP, Hon. Enobong Harry and Students Union President of the Akwa Ibom State University, Ikot Akpaden, Comrade Ikobong Ekette, among many others.
