Hebrews 11:1 NKJV
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
A title deed is a legal document constituting the evidence of a
person's legal ownership. Please note the word "legal document".
This is
the document that is commonly given to those who purchase cars.
However, at the initial purchase, they could give you the receipt to
your vehicle and every other relevant paper, but until they give you the
title deed, the car is not officially and legally yours yet.
This is
most common in countries and economies where things are mostly funded by
credit and mortgage purchases.
In such cases, the bank who facilitated
the purchase will keep the title deed till the loan is completely
serviced to the last penny. It is only then that they would release the
title deed to you so you can become the legal owner.
So, even
though the car was in your name, and you may even be in possession of
it, yet the car is not legally yours because you do not yet have the
title deed to the vehicle.
Unlike the receipt which is a proof of
payment, the title deed is a proof of ownership. So just because a thing
is in your hand does not mean it is legally yours yet.
You will need
the title deed to proof ownership. A title deed carries a few unique
features, and they are -The signature of the one transferring the
property and the official seal of the company. In our case today, faith
is the title deed.
The following are reasons why faith is our title deed:
i. It is our evidence of things not seen, according to our text today.
Once you have the title deed in your hands or in your heart, then you
know that you have the thing you are believing God for. You do not just
have it, it is also legally yours, because faith is a legal document in
the spirit.
ii. The title deed also contains a signature; an
official signature that authenticates the document. Our signature is the
word of God Himself. If God had said a thing, if He gave His voice to
any matter then that is His signature right there. God's word is His
signature and there is none like it.
iii. The next feature of our
faith seal is the seal of the blood of Jesus. God didn't just sign with
His word, He sealed it with the very blood of Jesus. This makes the word
of God legal and fully authentic.
The implication of this is, if
you find any place where the word says a thing as a promise to you and
as a right that you have; then you can go and rest because the matter is
closed and the promise is yours legally.
Every time you find a place
where God said a thing, then know that you just found a title deed, and
that makes that promise legally yours in Jesus Name.
