I am optimistic that Mr. Udom Emmanuel and other alleged Super Imposed appointees may not be aware of the revelation I am about revealing to the public regarding endorsement and votes count.
Prior to 1999 primaries of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), then governorship aspirant Mr. Benjamin Okoko had endorsement from almost all facets of the society.
The market Women, Youths, Political Class all wanted a former Commissioner for Works to emerge as governor, but Providence made Obong Victor Attah emerged as the flag bearer and ticket holder of the party and later became the second civilian governor of the state.
Grapevine posits that the choice of Obong Attah was as a result of the role played by his father in the then Ibibio Union. Whether such rumor is true or not, I perceive such tale as a GENERATIONAL SEED, a father sowed which the child inherited and harvested.
2003, Late Ime Umana was in the lips of almost everyone including Annang sons and daughters. He was heavily endorsed by Tribes, Students, Youth et al. But he lost the election both on ground and in court to Obong Attah.
Yea, Ime Umana was an achiever.
History claim that he contributed immensely to the creation of this state. The Law Faculty of the University of Uyo is credited to him, but this is the same Umana that was rejected by Annang elders, who once endorsed his governorship ambition... What an irony! Ours is a society where anything can happen. But may the Soul of the worthy philanthropist continually rest in perfect peace.
Unfortunately, the achievements of Late Ime Umana had appeared abstract as electorates were comfortable with construction of Four lane, establishment of museum, Ibom Plaza, Motor Parks, Akwa Ibom State University of Science and Technology among other progresses which Obong Attah did.
In 2007, who was Godswill Akpabio in terms of endorsement where the Udoma Ekarikas of this world were standing? Akpabio, I could recall was endorsed by segments of youths, few elders but his leading opponent was endorsed by almost everyone. The rest is history.
What of 2011, between Senator John James Udoedehe and Godswill Akpabio who had the highest endorsement?
Who later won on ground?
Who was allegedly shortchanged?
And who won at the court? Please someone should educate the Lagos I DON COME guys on this.
Someone should emphatically educate these newly bred politicians that prior to 2015, there was an aspirant
which was endorsed by almost everyone.
It was the interest of this aspirant that may have lured ex governor Godswill Akpabio to have said that, HE WAS NOT A PRODUCT OF ZONING, BUT THAT OF MAJORITY, insisting that anyone from any Senatorial District could emerge as his successor.
Between July, 2013 and 2015, there was a U-turn. The same mouth that shouted YES Fumed NO in Abuja
and thereafter, Udom Emmanuel reaped to the surprise of everyone from where pundits claim he didn't sow.
Like I said in my earlier post, 2013 is synonymous with 2017 in terms of gubernatorial election calendar year in our dear state. If by June 2013 Udom Emmanuel was not in the picture, then a soothsayer should tell the governor that the main politicking has not yet started.
I understand that accounts of some politicians have been freeze by EFCC, as such it is necessary for politicians to embark on endorsement so as to use the financial proceed and start political consultation.
Udom Emmanuel should be wiser enough to decode that, his endorsement is done in partnership with another aspirant... Something like, WE HAVE ENDORSED SO SO SO FOR SENATE AND UDOM
EMMANUEL FOR GOVERNOR....Who pays for the endorsement bill is not always disclosed on the media, but we know the gimmicks.
Udom Emmanuel should take a cue from Barr. Dan Abia Jnr who moved motion for his endorsement in Eket but defected two weeks after the event. If I may ask, was that not a drama? So what stops the recent one from becoming a movie?
I doubt if endorsement has ever materialized to vote, neither has gathering of stakeholders ever won an election for an individual, this is because in a Banana Republic, the word 'stakeholders' is complex and ambiguous.
There is no provision in the constitution as such anyone could be promoted to the office of
STAKEHOLDER, pending on the secretary sending the invitation letter.
The governor needs to understand that achievements determines second term, nothing more, nothing less.
You do not break the heart of about 3000 indigenes of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District who their son had given them teaching employment and expect them to vote for you...could that be possible? I doubt.
I wish to commend critics for mandating Udom Emmanuel to change his mind towards Local Government Election, as he had earlier looked down on the conduct of the election disclosing that he can never in his life time borrow money to brighten Democratic Process.
I may not know whether nepotism will thrive in the conduct of the election, but I could imagine who will be chairmen of Uyo, Oruk Anam, Ikono, Mkpat Enin LGAs etcetera.
It is only a shortsighted political party that will join in a race it does not know the pattern whether it's 100, 400 or 1000 meters.
As far as I know, no one can set examination for himself and fail.
If Eagle Party is on ground and most popular in this state, then it should know that the outcome of Local Government Election may send right or wrong signal to the national and as such should do the needful... A word is enough.
No, I am not advising Political Parties to withdraw from the race, I am only saying that we should follow the ways of ants and as such LOOK BEFORE WE LEAP.
What Udom Emmanuel needs is not endorsement but concentration.
He should also listen to his thoughts whenever he is alone and his words when he is with people.
How can a leader who looked down on democratic process would make a U turn within a week and expect electorate to applaud and possibly vote him for a second term?
Isn't it visible that his ambition is the reason behind his U Turn meaning that there will be no LG election till 2024 if he emerges as governor in 2019?
How could supporters of core politicians cue behind someone who sacked their Masters from State Executive Council and replaced same with LAGOS I DON COME when he had perceived grab of government?
How could youths who were allegedly branded cultist, useless and what have you suddenly forget their past?
Do we need to browse before we could recall the first governor of our dear state who went on air and branded some citizens as fools and illiterates? Yeah, we may be illiterate, but our God is not a Fool.
How would residents of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District feel after embarking on infrastructural tourism in Awa Iman?
Let endorsement continues so that the governor can put smiles on the faces of politicians, but let 2019 comes so that the difference between wearing and bearing a cross can be shown.
