Prospering By The Word - P. Ezekiel Atang

Isaiah 55:10-11 KJV

“For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

Prosperity comes by a combination of factors and not just one single thing. Many times, people get to know and operate one aspect of the required principles of prosperity and then go to sleep from there, then they wonder why they are not prospering the way they should.

Many hear about the testimony of one person and then run off to do what the person did, without knowing that there were other things the person must have done as well that culminated in that testimony.

Prosperity has many departments to it. There is the work angle, there is the diligence, creativity and innovation side, and there is the value and power of relationship aspect as well.

There are other factors like seeds, sacrifices, tithes, etc. The school of prosperity is not for lily livered people, but for those who have staying power and are willing to pay the price.

There is an angle to prosperity which is ‘The Word of God’. Our text says the word of God prospers in whatsoever it is sent.

Remember also that God sends His word to heal and to deliver us, (Psalm 107:20). We are in God's image, as such we have to send the word ahead of us towards our prosperity as well. Here are a few ways to prosper by the word of God.

i. Study and research the word of God over any area of difficulty in your life, and then find out what God has to say. Hold on fast to whatever revelation to get, regardless of what people or circumstances may say.

ii. Obey the word of God: Obedience is the most important price any believer will have to pay. Joshua 1:8 says that the practicing or obedience of the word will make our ways prosperous. Psalm 1:1-3 says as we do what the word says, we will prosper in whatsoever we do. The doing of the word is prosperity in itself.

iii. Declare and confess the word: When you declare the word of God, you call things to be. When you declare the word of God you create whatsoever it is that you declared.

When you declare the word, you are sending it to work for you and to prosper in whatever your heart’s desire is.

For instance, when you declare right before your exams or interview that you are the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath, and that you have sound mind, etc. you would be creating success and favorable opportunities for yourself to succeed.

In prospering by the word, you must declare what the word of God says regardless of what you feel and what you see or what people say for that matter.

Prosper by the word in Jesus Name.
