The former House of Representatives aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Dr. Edet Efretuei has declared his intention to run for the 2019 governorship election in Akwa Ibom State.
Efretuei, who hails from Oron had in 2007 aspired to represent the Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, but was defeated by the former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chief Linus Umoh.
Addressing a cross section of the All Progressives Congress, APC at the State Secretariat of the party last Tuesday, Efretuei noted that he is ready to serve the people of the state as governor, come 2019.
He promised to run an open door policy, which according to him, education, health and Agriculture will receive the primary attention of his administration.
He however informed the APC faithful that he will only be in office for a single term of one year, saying that he will never seek for a second term in office.
Engr. Efretuei however informed the party faithful that he was not out to condemn the administration of Deacon Udom Emmanuel in Akwa Ibom State, but assured the people that he will be sworn-in come, 2019, calling on the current governor to prepare his handling-over note.
A close look at his profile indicates that Efretuei is an American trained civil engineer, entrepreneur and a politician.
