Akwa Ibom state female football team,Ibom Angels, are optimistic to end the first round of the league with eleven points.
This was made known by the the technical adviser of the club, Whyte
Ogbonda, before departing to Bayelsa state ,for match 6 of the ongoing
Nigeria women football league,adding that,all hands are on deck to make
this happened.
According to him,"though we started the season in a dull mode after losing two matches, drew one and won a game,I am so confidence to end the season better than I started"
Ogbonda, who expressed the believed that today's game against their ark rival, Bayelsa Queens,in Nembe,will determined where they will finally end the first round of the league.
The team,who are currently occupying the fifth position in the log with four points from four matches,have the top scorer of the league so far,Charity Ruben,,with four goals from four matches, which the tall lanky striker promised to increase her goal tallies in today's game.
Ibom Angels recorded her first win of the season last Wednesday by defeating Abia Angels by two goals to one, and they will be without one of their best forward, Blessing Okpe, who was given a red card in their match against Abia Angles.
Bayelsa Queens are second on the league table with seven points from four games,after beating Heartland Queens of Owerri,by two goals to nil last week Wednesday still in Bayelsa.
The encounter is expected to kick off by 4pm,at Nembe city stadium.
